It's simply the best Star Wars there is, if you have only just come aboard do yourself a favour and start at Series One Episode One. If not, like me and you've just jumped aboard the hype train again going to the happiness station... this episode is exactly what we all wanted.

We are back!!!
lalovicbabi322 February 2020
It's quite obvious Disney pulled this out of the depths because of the money and loyal fanbase. Let's call it what it is, their movies tanked so they are returning to a gold mine considering no one seemed to hate this series and of course we will watch it. The question is, can they do these stories justice without George and keep in mind continuity as well? Perhaps, with Filoni. We shall see. But an emotional return to something I hold very dear and when the theme song came up, I might have teared up. Welcome back, Star Wars.

The Bad Batch
lassegalsgaard22 February 2020
Finally! This is the Disney+ content that I've been waiting for. A lot was riding on the back of this return, but I have to say that I thoroughly believe that the nailed it with this first episode. The animation has reached such a delicate level, and it seems way more fluent this time around. The cinematography has been improved a whole lot and through that, they were able to craft some truly magnificent action sequences in this episode. I think it was a smart move to start out with a clone-centric episode as that has always been the heart of the show and we have it to thank for giving the clone troopers more personality. Clone Force 99 was a nice addition, but I did feel like they were a bit superhuman at times, which their "mutations" almost seemingly turning them into beings with superpowers. Other than that, this return was everything that I could have hoped for, and it sets up an interesting arc for the first few episodes of the season, and I'm truly excited to see what Dave Filoni and the amazing creators behind this has in store for us, because I believe it is going to be a great addition to the legacy of this great show.

An amazing beginning to the final season

Warning: Spoilers
The animation is beautiful. Seeing all of the characters like that brought back the feeling. This episode was written amazingly. You could definitely feel what Rex was feeling in this episode. And that not-so cliffhanger at the end really did hype up the next episode. 10 out of 10 episode.

Best season starter yet!
dasqdasq21 February 2020
I've been a pretty big fan of Clone Wars for a long time, and I've been DYING for Clone Wars to come back for SO LONG. I was a little afraid that this first episode of the least essential of the three story arcs we'll get this season would be a bit underwhelming, but boy was I wrong. This was the best starter to a season this show has ever had, and if the season starts out this strong, I have so much hope for whats to come. We get to see more of Rex, one of the best Star Wars characters ever, as well as a bunch of new clones that I already like a lot, with a super fun story. The realism of the war continues to work, the action scenes are super entertaining, and a revelation that made my jaw drop and will wake me up super early next Friday to see how this story is going to continue. Its amazing how much story they can put into 22 minutes and still not make it feel rushed. Highly recommended to any fan of The Clone Wars, and I highly recommend the show to anyone who hasn't yet seen it.

The beginning of the end

Warning: Spoilers
After 6 long awaited years, the Clone Wars finally returned, and it started off with a bang!

I liked how barely anything changed. It really makes you feel like you are 12 again. I also really enjoyed the raw emotion and the character development we get from Rex.

The overall downside of this episode is that it's too short. For me, it felt like the episode went by 4 minutes instead of 20.

But overall, this season started off with a bang! Can't wait for the next episode!

Echoes
A_Kind_Of_CineMagic6 October 2020
This marked the return of Clone Wars under Disney's ownership of Lucasfilm.

This arc is pure and simple classic Star Wars action with loads of fun battles with heart and soul behind it.

They have linked back to clone trooper arcs from the past and the story arc adds a bit more to the plotting by the Sith to influence both sides of the war.

Superb animation and great entertainment even if it a bit of a cliched Dirty Dozen type 'band of misfits on a mission'.

My rating: 8/10.

Finally, Season 7 has arrived
haydensbanks21 February 2020
The season begins with The Bad Batch, which has Rex and Cody enlisting the assistance of Clone Force 99 to recover the Republic's strategy algorithm from Admiral Trench. Clone Force 99 is an unorthodox but elite squad of defective clones who are also known as the Bad Batch - hence the episodes title. The squads name is also a touching tribute to 99 who was introduced and subsequently died defending Kamino in the first two episodes of season 3. The Bad Batch is a very solid return for The Clone Wars. The episode gives us plenty of action and avoids being derivative of previous episodes, which Disney has struggled with in its big budget films so far. The big reveal at the end of the episode, which is considered a possibility throughout but finally confirmed, is definitely intriguing. I can't wait until next weeks episode, which will further explore this idea. I'm also keen to see more of Clone Force 99 who are just as intriguing on their own - could there be a spinoff movie about their adventures?

Warning: Spoilers
This episode starts off relatively weak with character moments and writing that feels mediocre and out of place in this show. It doesn't feel like it makes much sense for things to happen that happen, and this is a setup we've seen plenty of before. "There's the tech wiz, the sharpshooter, the brute, and the leader." Very clever guys, never seen that one before. Honestly, I'm mostly just angry they would include such a lazy trope. I would have preferred if they were all in 1 category, preferably the Brute. It would make more sense considering they are clones after all, and making each member of a single batch unique would be too time consuming, especially considering the Kaminoans are relatively satisfied with the clones, so it doesn't make a lot of sense why they would decide to experiment like this. However, I will give praise where it's due. The animation is undeniably great. Not cinematic levels, but definitely better than almost every other show out there. The choreography deserves a mention, it was quite captivating, and very clever at times. They did manage to use the "brute/tech/sniper/leader" trope well, and the tech wiz was probably the best of the four in the episode, since he wasn't a helpless weakling with technological tendencies. The Sharpshooter was awful though. "He's got good aim and doesn't talk much" has been done to death, even outside this trope. Very boring character, almost annoying even. The brute was whatever, nothing especially great or horrible. Just sort of your run of the mill average brute. Story didn't make much sense either. How did Rex know Echo was alive?? Why are the clones fighting this much when this is borderline taboo to them, being brothers and all? Why is Rex acting this way at the start?! It doesn't make any sense. Overall, it's still got decent enough comradery and action to be considered a good episode, but nowhere near the greats. Not an amazing season beginner.

Clone Wars animation is way better than the movies IMO. This did not disappoint.
leeangus-0935822 February 2020
After watching all 6 previous seasons and thinking they were excellent, way better than the movies, I was really looking forward to season 7, and it did not disappoint. For me Rex will always be one of the main and best characters in all of the star wars franchise and it was great to see season 7 kick off with a story all about Rex. Can't wait for the next episode.

Disrespecting existing characters
Sismanski23 May 2022
After many years I finally decided to watch the whole movies and series in chronological order. I once watched this series till the end of season 6, but re-watched every single episode again, right after watching Episode 1&2 movie.

So the end of season 6 comes a little sudden, and I think we all know why. But season 7 really put me off, even though I had high hopes, and expected a decent conclusion of the series and characters. But the season already starts off weird, making existing characters look incompetent in a couple ways and the new characters also seem are very shallow.

First off let's start with the two clone veterans Rex and Cody. They both have a very unprofessional way of talking in this season. And especially Rex used to be a very competent leader of the troops in battle, but somehow it now feels like he is kind of insecure and lost his ability to shine with his expertise and talent to adapt fast. I get it, that their new brothers in arms are not their regular troopers, so they both have little authority, but still they even talk and act very different.

Even Anakin Skywalker and Mace Windu both have their very weird moments. Maybe it's just the bad dialogues, but these well established characters are not acting the same. It's barely noticable and maybe unfair nitpicking, but once seen, you cannot unsee these major differences in their characteristics and ways of dealing with situations.

And what can I say about the new guys. Well, let me put it this way: The regular clones are basically the same, but all with special talents and minor differences in characteristics and training of course. The new guys on the other hand are using plain archetypes and while one of them feels like an Easter-Egg joke, another one basically has super powers like a retarded Hulk. Sure they are the Bad Batch, basically faulty, but these doesn't feel faulty, but just a forced change, so the kids can pick their favorite clones easier.

It looks like Clone Wars, but watching the whole season 1-6 to the end within a short time span, you will instantly notice the huge difference of these characters within the first few minutes of season 7.

The Bad Batch
kaden_lewis3 January 2022
In March of 2021, I decided to watch Star Wars for the first time. I chose to watch it in the timeline order, and chose watch everything, including the cartoons. I am so happy I did, because with the exception of Star Wars Resistance, they were all amazing. But my favorite is 100% Star Wars: The Clone Wars. It is just amazing. I didn't have my IMDb account at the time, so I could review it. That is why I decided to re watch my one of my favorite seasons, season 7, and review it.

This was a great start to the season. I know I didn't have to wait 6 years for the final season like the true original fans, but I still really enjoyed it. I especially like the Bad Batch characters. It is a very cool way to make the clones unique. The clones are all based off of Jango Fett, which means despite having slightly different personalities, they are the same person. This also goes for the clones, but Clone Force 99 (The Bad Batch) is truly unique. They are defective clones with enhanced abilities. The battle scene in this episode also did a great job showing what each member can really do. This was a good episode, and a great way to kick off the final season.

Amazing return!
markq-7565422 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I grew up watching clone wars, it was an amazing series. I was disappointed when it was canceled. Then it had a new season on Netflix. It was a great season but the ending felt anticlimactic. Now it has returned again for a true final season.

This episode just shows how great the season will be. The animation is just amazing. It's still like the previous seasons, but they added something to it. It seems more clear and clean. The action was also amazing.

The new clones are interesting, and Echo being alive is crazy. Can't wait for the rest of the season. This is just an amazing episode.

Amazing start to the final season of this beautiful series. I'm so glad it's in the right hands with Dave Filoni and the team. The know what's right and they do it right.

Great decision to remake this clone based arc as the very first. I think this is exactly what we fans wanted. Super excited for the next episodes in this arc and the two more arcs to come.

Worth the wait
bekemgoeceri4 June 2021
I have hesitated too long for this and now I finally watched it. And man, that was splendid. Atmosphere, animation, characters. I had watched Bad Batch before I started the first episode of the final season of clone wars.

I am extremely hyped for the upcoming episodes, despite my unfortunate knowledge about what is coming. Hopefully there are still a few surprises.

A new hope
Trey_Trebuchet31 July 2021
I never watched this show as it aired, so I didn't have to wait too long to go right into this after finishing season 6. I can see why so many were hyped and why so many were satisfied with this premiere episode. The animation has come a long way since even the last few seasons. Rex was always one of my favorite characters in the entire show so making him essentially the main character won be over right away. I also found this 'Bad Batch' very interesting and charming (although Wrecker's yelling did annoy me a bit).

All in all, great episode.

My Opinion
Chikiw23 February 2020
I was ready for the season but now I am not. This episode was boring, fast paced and just off. The voice acting was bad, the blaster rifle sounds were muted and not consistent with the original sounds. The action was boring. Also Anakin had like no lines... I just think this episode was horrible for starting the season.

Warning: Spoilers
I liked the episode. Lots of action and a cool start to a new arc. Only criticism I have is the hundreds of battle droids that couldn't hit a single target. Perhaps in the future the empire just put white armor on these guys and called them Stormtroopers? Seriously, they could have added a few clones into the mix that die.
