Solid stand-up special that's receiving too many negative reviews
kstice-2519521 January 2021
I usually don't bother to write reviews for anything older than a year, but there are way too many negative reviews of this special on IMDB. Before I dive into the positives of this special, I will concede what I believe are issues with D'Elia's comedy. He does tend to stretch out his jokes for too long. Furthermore, too many of his jokes are sexual in nature. Finally, the mannerisms and body language that D'Elia employs are sometimes funny, but also sometimes irritating.

Now, here are the reasons why I still believe this to be a solid stand-up special. His jokes consistently connect back to previous jokes in humorous ways. I appreciate the level of enthusiasm he brings to his comedy. You can tell that he genuinely loves his profession. Many of his jokes are spot on, and provide relatable material. His comments about men who wear NFL jerseys are completely accurate, and I think about this stand-up act whenever I see an adult wearing a NFL player's jersey. For this reason, the stand-up special left an indelible impact.

While this stand-up special might not be one of the best on Netflix, it's definitely still worth a watch.

Pros and Cons Summary

+Great skit on the NFL and wearing professional athlete jerseys

+Great skit on babies

+Relatable material on dating

-Too much of his comedy is sexual in nature

-Body movements can be excessive at times

-Some jokes are stretched out for too long

True
animelifeoffire9 July 2017
I really like this comedian he speaks the truth and while he does joke around he'll shove the facts of life right in your face and make you take it, I think that's why a lot of people dislike them because they feel uncomfortable about the truth. Regardless, this is a great one for men and women to watch because men can relate and women like me can learn... more than we wanted to. Plus, I like that he can laugh at himself as well. Regardless, if you like honesty you'll probably like him.

Unfunny waste of time
timmy_is_fly19 August 2015
I'll just say that I'm a fan of Chris D'Elia. He's had some really good shows, but this one is honestly a complete pile of crap. It feels like he just made every joke up on the spot and got his rich dad to rent a theater for him. This is probably one of the worst stand up routines I've ever had the misfortune of seeing.

Each joke is stretched out and emphasized to waste as much time as possible, and the jokes seriously aren't even funny. You can almost feel the disappointment of the audience. If you want to see a funny Chris D'eila show, watch 'White male black comic'.

Please do yourself a favor and don't buy/rent/watch this train wreck. Peace

I laughed till i worried about my oxygen levels

D'elia enters and starts storytelling in a way that you are not prepared for. I had to stop at minute 38:10, because i couldn't breathe anymore, like a normal person. I literally had to control myself and breath slowly with the show paused before i pass out. Loved it, thats how comedy supposed to be in my humble opinion. Give it a try, please.

Dane Cook Hack Understudy

Jesus! Allah! Buddha! he is awful as church. This is what you get when friends tell you how funny you are, so you get your rich daddy to spend money on something you're not good at. The DJ/Actress Paris Hilton of comedy. Pauly shore is rolling in his hostel bed right now. Must be mentally ill or almost OD'ing to find this guy and his "comedy" funny. Drunk suicidal lonely accountants on meth and tall cans are funnier. If you think Miley Cyrus is a hot babe, Fox news a serious news show, and Donald Trump as intelligent, then this "comedian" is the future to you. Fluffy is funnier than this idiot. Seriously, live and let his career die!

Just... no!

I knew this was going to be bad when I realised, two minutes in, that D'Elia has that desperately annoying habit of saying "like" in the way normal people use commas. He'd said like, so often, that I couldn't hear anything, it became white noise. It didn't help that it seemed he'd taken 80s comedians' advice and, presumably, snorted a couple of lines before taking the stage. Frantic, sweaty, incoherent does not make for the best stand up.

Imagine, imagine...come closer...imagine....
spamonlykev1 February 2016
Warning: Spoilers
(This review will have "spoilers," although none of them funny. This review will be 100 percent accurate due to those spoilers)

Imagine, wait...come closer...closer....even closer......now imagine.....taking a joke, beating it into the ground.....coming up with five slightly less funny variations....THEN getting two and a half more minutes out of it. Now, imagine this bit....saying imagine, come closer, approximately 25 more times, all in the same tone with the same body movements and all devoid completely of humor. And you've just watched his show.

How I decided on 2 out of 10: I watched the first fifteen minutes, stopped watching then averaged in the last part of the show as if it was a 10 out of 10 for the remainder. Just to be fair. Quite frankly, it should be a 1.5 out of 10 but they don't do halves.

Disclaimer: I actually think he's funny on Undateable. So, I went into it thinking he was funny. Your review may not be so kind.

Pauly Shore 2.0 is even worse
I made it 9 minutes in. If you saw Pauly Shore's Christmas Story appearance in the first season of Mad TV, where he tells a totally incoherent story about eggnog for 10 minutes? Same deal. But worse. Not just because it's not 1993 anymore and comedy has evolved, but also because we already had a Pauly Shore man, the clone has no business anywhere.

Lots of nonsense and repetition
shoppingrita10 March 2019
This dude is annoying - most of the stuff is a complete nonsense and he repeats his jokes wayyyy too many times!! So the first time you like 'heh yeah I see what you're trying to do here' and the fifth is 'I need to track you down and punch you in the face even though I'm a good person who doesn't get angry easily'

Worst joke ever
xexyzchronos16 April 2020
This guy made me crack ZERO smiles. ZERO laughs, and I had to explain to my girlfriend why the living #@$> I was watching. This guy has no talent whatsoever. How did he get Netflix to give him a F#@!N@ special? Seriously, if he could get a special, we all have an opportunity to get famous because most of us probably don't suck like this worthless, loser, M0+#3RF_C#3R. What a "joke".
