The Best Naruto Movie by a Long Shot
saikatsamanta8 October 2020
Naruto wil always be the anime thats closest to my heart. I grew up with these characters and to see them grown & nurture the next generation is amazing. But I have never been fond of Naruto movies, they were always very generic. But this one really surprised me, with its animation quality, Complex relationship between Naruto & his son, & that Sick Battle in the End. Naruto fans should definitely watch it.

A great introduction to Boruto series.

Tons of new characters, great action sequences ,stunning artstyle and getting to see growth version of Naruto's classmates. All of this are just too short for 1.30 minutes.

Excellent Movie
Jsam65410 October 2015
Gone are the college days where I had time for anime. However, made time today with some friends to watch the limited release of Boruto: Naruto the Movie, and am so glad I did!

Excellent tribute to an anime that captivated so many of us! Started a bit slow, but of course eventually picked up. One of the best Naruto movies without a doubt! Hope that the creators of the original Naruto series continue to develop future adaptations, and that we don't lose this enjoyable anime.

The quality of animation has improved so much, it is mind-boggling. Two thumbs up and ten stars for sure!

Moving, funny, and nostalgic
taitr10 October 2015
This movie is the close to it all Kishimoto wanted and he wrote it beautifully. He has a knack for that, and for hitting what I feel are the most important emotional points of a story. The characters are consistent and complex, Sasuke has redeemed himself, everyone has a sense of new wisdom to them, and there are several perfect lines of advice for teaching/parenting which is a strong theme in the series. Beautiful, inspiring, and entertaining film, with more than a little homage paid to notable fights and characters. Must see for anyone who has read and/or watched the series, and if you haven't, please give it a try, at least so you can understand the meaning behind what is happening in the film. You will appreciate it so much when you do. Enjoy!

Let's be honest every naruto movie has been shoddy at best.
oaksquared22 January 2016
Personally I love the Naruto series, but was always disappointed by the movies. This one however is by far the greatest anime movie I've ever seen before by far. I have never cried during a Naruto scene before, but this one brought me to tears and is likely to be one of the only movies to ever get me to that level emotionally. Well crafted battle scenes, theme, and overall story. P.S. keep watching after the credits as there is an extra scene. Can't wait to see the next series in the naruto franchise because if it'still anything like this movie it will definitely be well worth the wait. Definitely buying this movie on bluray.

Nostagia hits hard
De_Sam16 January 2016
The animation is spotty at times; it is evident that the greatest amount of effort was spent on the opening and ending fight sequences, leaving all scenes in between at a lower level of quality.

Furthermore the adaptation of the novel had caused a loss of nuance, making this inferior to the original source. Technology was not really (there were instances that it was) present in Kishimoto's original manga, now that it is he uses a popular motive of the Japanese New Wave, namely the idea that technology is taking over the life of man and this should be adverted as it is a regression. It comes over rather forced and blatant in the film as in the novel.

Yet, despite these flaws I cannot help but like this film; nostalgia hits, hard. I have grown up with the Naruto series and this is the end point. If nothing else, it really works as a closer, making me want to read it all again, which I probably will in the future.

Spoiler Free: A surprisingly gigantic success that shouldn't have been possible!
aidanpscott14 November 2015
Let me first say that I'm not particularly a fan of anime: I like Naruto, Dragon Ball, and Death Note for a while, but beyond that, never much else. Also, I hate Anime Movies with a passion (unless it's Spirited Away and Mononoki) and I went to see this movie because a friend got me a ticket... That's all. This is by far the best Anime movie I've ever seen in my life! I hate pretty much all the Naruto movies, except for The Last Movie (It's was okay, IMP). Words cannot describe it! How does a show that should have been stretch to it's limit suddenly start a new series and not screw it up in any way! This new era in the Naruto franchise should have been a bomb, but I believe this new series may have potential to be better than even the original two Naruto series. The story is great, and completely different from how anyone... ANYONE thought it would be (Naruto's son wants to be Hokage... Yadidadeda... Not at all!) and it wasn't! This is a new story that breaths incredible life into the series nobody had seen since the first time it appeared on Anime! I'm serious, this is from a guy who's not a big anime guy! The character are great (Boruto becomes great towards the end, but that's meant to be the case. He sucks at the beginning), some old characters make great entrances and even see some action, the ending is great, the chemistry between the new characters and the old is incredible and very relatable, Sasuke's character is better than EVER (Until now, I never liked Sasuke, but now I love him!!!!). It starts off strong, has really good drama, the pacing is masterful, soundtrack is well-built and put together, the humor is done very well, and the best part is YOU DON'T NEED TO KNOW A THING ABOUT THE ORIGINAL NARUTO TO LOVE IT! I'm serious! In fact, I would go as far to say that this movie, Boruto: The Movie, is the best starting point for newbies! This movie should have been average at best... A disappointment to the fans, and I have never been more into anime in my life! The only thing I didn't like about it was the "Mini-Scroll Gauntlet" during the Chunin exams to not spoil it. Those who saw it and understand what it means will surely agree with me. It also kinda feels like the Legend of Korea, when technology is introduced to the world, but that's not necessarily a bad thing (It can be one however in the future), every moment is used (never wasted), and it never gets boring! There isn't ever a forced moment (which is huge for me because, even though I like Naruto a lot, there are a lot of really forced moments, especially with the terrible English voice acting, which I hate with an utmost and absolute passion!) I also would have wanted a mini-anime to come out soon after because now I'm on my computer trying to figure out when the next one's come out. I here there's an excellent Manga that's the prequel to the movie, but I never read the Manga. Perhaps, I will this time considering how good this movie was. One of the best movies of the year, easily, along side (in my opinion) The Martian, Sicario, Ant-Man, Straight Outta Compton, Bridge of Spies, and Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation. Seriously, go see this movie! You'll be surprised!

Like a preview for an anime
jaysshukla20 September 2021
At least, you wouldn't be able to criticize this movie like how you would end up criticizing the anime. Firstly, this came even before the manga. You are going to follow the Chunin exam arc in just 2 hours. I mean for a change, its not 20 chapters or 20 episodes long. Let's appreciate that the plot has been set up beautifully and totally matches with the current era in the Narutoverse. Otherwise, the Shippuden's ending was almost perfect. It is also amazing that in just 2 hours, we still get enough idea about how the new generation characters are. Orginal Naruto fans and Shippuden fans too would enjoy this movie as their heroes Naruto and Sasuke do get an opportunity and do manage to shine in the battle. No doubt that the battle has been choreographed better in the anime version but it still looks perfect for a movie version.

Now that it is a fact that while adapting this movie both the manga and the anime added few more details or elements to the plot, I think it is fairer to treat this movie as a preview. Surely, that is bound to give a sense of something being incomplete but that doesn't mean you wouldn't be able to enjoy this.

I believe this should be watched before you start following the manga or the anime version.

Son of a Naruto!
TheOneThatYouWanted19 November 2016
I'm a little surprised this was as good as it was. I guess they had to make it a good Naruto movie because the series is ending and they want people to give Baruto a chance. Whatever, jury is still out on if I'm going to watch Baruto, all signs point to "no" right now. Anyway, this film is about Naruto's son, Baruto and this is pretty much a rehashing of Naruto seasons 2 and 3. It is worth watching. Good action, animation and whatever. But mostly this is worth watching just to see Naruto and his friends interact as adults. Awww, seeing Naruto as a grownup brings a tear to my eye. Not really but whatever. It is better than your average manga movie spin off or whatever.

Awesome as Ever
singhsubhamsks26 March 2017
I believed "The Last" will be the last movie but they made another one,and its so emotional to see all the characters grown-up in live action with their kids. The end credit scene actually burst me out of laughter. Seeing how Boruto made Sasuke as the role model was expected at the end and I was so happy to listen that at the end of the movie

Great movie despite a ridiculous final act.
KADC20 January 2020
After the terrible "The Last", my expectations for "Boruto" were very low, but I was pleasantly surprised with superior animation, interesting characters, and an excellent story ...until the final act when they must have thought this was Dragon Ball Z movie complete with stronger power ups after being weakened when easily defeated before and using what was clearly a spirit bomb. The nonsensical ending seemed out of place given how well crafted the rest of the movie was but, unfortunately, poorly constructed finales are all too common for animé series feature films.

Despite the disappointing last 10 or 15 minutes, the rest of "Boruto" was so genuinely good that the movie as a whole wasn't ruined. This is a film that both Naruto fans and newcomers alike will enjoy.

The best of all the best.
liezle-614797 May 2018
The next storyline for NARUTO is now ongoing series BORUTO: NARUTO NEXT GENERATIONS - this series is the story of Naruto's son Boruto whereas he always tend to fight the attention of this father ( NARUTO) whose always busy with his career as his dream come true as the HOKAGE OF KONOHAGURE. The story of Boruto is likewise the same as Naruto when he was captured to Infinite Tsukoyomi whereas his both parents are alive and Minato Namikaze the Fourth Hokage is busy being a Hokage and Naruto was always compared to his father and fighting for himself to be acknowledge by anyone not as just Hokage's son but as Naruto himself. This just reminds me of how Naruto and Boruto feels the same way on getting attention to the one they loved most. I also love Himawari so much. The way he defeated his father for the '' locked on'' fight with Boruto..Oh Himawari so cute and adorable . And I want to see more on Naruto and Boruto scene where they will bond to each other soon. ANd Naruto to Hinata scene too..as well as the Naruto gang. Miss them so much to bond with.

Now signing off..Love Naruto so much..his my childhood sweetheart.

Continuation of an Iconic Legacy with New Adventures and Heartfelt Themes
Mysterygeneration11 January 2024
The ultimate tale in the Naruto universe has finally been revealed, following more than ten years of success in the US and five more in Japan.

The emotional tension between father and son Boruto and Naruto is the main theme of the film. Because Naruto can't spend time with his kid, Boruto becomes enraged and hateful of his father for what he has done. Even though he doesn't always follow shinobi protocol, Boruto is able to hold his father's attention despite his weak will. Given that Sasuke serves as Boruto's mentor for a large chunk of the movie, this is consistent with his past. Though the topic is not further explored in the movie, Boruto believes Sasuke can fill the hole left by his father's lackluster presence. The film's strongest aspect is Boruto's character's entire arc, which comes to a satisfying climax in the last act.

Amazing
uzumakinaruto-606871 November 2015
Must watch for anyone who has liked Naruto. The movie is truly the pinnacle of Masashi Kishimoto's work. Made me feel sad when it ended because this is the end of an outstanding series. Can't express sufficiently how sad a true fan will feel after the movie ends when it strikes him/her that this is the end. As far as the story of the movie is concerned it is an outstanding one that will intrigue the viewer and the only negative would be that the movie should be much longer considering this is the last one. Just loved it and hope that Kishimoto changes his decision and writes another Naruto series. Enjoy the movie Dattebayo.

an almost perfect anime
jawneyfloros12 November 2018
Review: I enjoyed this movie because it made me think that Naruto's son could live up to his father's potential. The direction and screenplay are both really good. Both the casting and acting are really good also. All in all I would give this four out of a possible five stars.

Doesn't live up to expectation
martin_merelesc23 February 2022
Boruto was a hugely entertaining experience from the themes of family, love, and hardship to the action packed epic combat. Boruto definitely doesn't live up to the hype and while it's not a good conclusion to the franchise (it leaves a lot of loose ends), it does leave a sense of content and nostalgia that leaves lasting memories in fans' minds of those years watching Boruto grow up. Naruto, those who recently picked him up and enjoyed the world of shinobi.
