The inmate Max (Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge) learns from a special agent that his only son, Theo (Antoine DesRochers), has joined a criminal organization led by the powerful drug pin Lawyer (Andreas Apergis). Max attacks Lawyer in the bathroom and uses the havoc to flee from the prison. Max finds Theo with Lawyer's mistress Daphné (Madeleine Péloquin) and her bodyguard Colosse (Alexandre Goyette), but Theo is seduced by the woman and refuses to talk to Max, since he blames his father for the death of his mother Alice. He learns that Theo and his friend Charly (Antoine Olivier Pilon) are hackers and they have found the well-protected hideout and the laboratory of two chemical drug dealers that have invented the powerful drug Nitro. Daphne proposes Max to join her team to steal the formula and protect Theo during the heist, and Max accepts the deal.
"Nitro Rush" is an underrated Canadian action film, with a good storyline and great athletic performance of Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge despite his height of 1.68 m. The plot has car chase, betrayal, fight, beautiful woman, redemption; therefore everything that a viewer expects to see in an action movie. The cast is practically unknown but Max's scenes are impressive and the film is highly entertaining. My vote is seven.
