Frustration, the battle between young and old, east and west, religions, culture, sexualism and sekularism in the pakistani ghettos in the urban environment of usa's chicago.

a girl want to dance, but that strikes against her granddads way of reading the quuran and living a pure life of islam, so its the battle set to justify her life and her dance.

its technically not a 8th wonder of the world, the editing aint steady and some scenes seems malplaced according to the way i read the plot. but its a low cost production, basicly made on pure will, and do send the message in a way that will provoke and disharmonate the socalled harmony. its also a finger pointed towards american suspiscion, counterterrorism and being a muslim living or trying to visit the freedom nation number 1.

the grumpy old man do see the the fist in their making, and may agree to the hypocritical critique against this and that. if youre in for the dance there aint much to see, but the danceuse do have a shining light of beauty in her. so a small recommend.

The story being told could be told a lot better. This movie is about a strong very secular young girl being dragged into religion and looking for answers in a religous book. When living your whole life secular it seems a bit week that the quran should make a difference in such a short time due a visit from a relative. acting is mediocre, plot very thin and can she even dance? The movie should bring out a stronger passion for dancing than it does

See all those 10/10 reviews ? Click on the username. Notice how they all have maybe a few weeks of IMDb registration and only one review - this film. What level of confidence in their own product did the filmmakers have, if they had to pay for "sponsored reviews" ?

Frankly, I'll Meet You There is dead in the water because it commits the worst sin of filmmaking - it's boring. It's the boring story of an older father trying to cope with young liberalism, a theme that has been used far better in other films, and, it also thinks it's subtle, and clever, while in fact it's bland and boring. Did i mention it's boring?

If you fancy watching an "ethnic" film and want the same - but better - story, then the vastly superior Bend It Like Beckham should do.

My vote: 1/10 - get fake reviews, earn fake vote.

How did this make it to the London Indian Film Festival??? I should have suspected it was a waste of time when it was the only film left on the list with huge numbers of tickets unsold. Terrible acting, stunted dialogue, shoddy camerawork and a story that is boring, unoriginal and uninspired. I had try hard not to doze off!

Iram Parveen Bilal tells an important and beautiful story. The film follows Majeed, a Muslim Chicago police officer, and his daughter Dua, an aspiring dancer who are well integrated in the American culture. Their world changes after the unexpected arrival of Majeed's more traditional father Baba and when Majeed is asked to go undercover at the mosque his father Baba is attending. There's so much in this indie movie: the Islamic culture, which has so many fascinating aspects, a universal story of how we all deal with family relationships and a touching parallel between dance and life. Rumi's quote melts your heart and makes you realize how, beyond our life experiences and backgrounds, we all are one.

Just had a chance to watch Iram Parveen Bilal's latest production I'll Meet You There - Bismil.....What an awesome production and storyline. I am just speechless.....Iram outdid herself weaving the story between a father, daughter and grandfather so flawlessly while providing a fresh perspective on eastern and western culture. For someone who moved to States after spending their teenage years in Pakistan and have kids who were born in states can relate to so many moments in this movie. From the first scene to the last scene the movie kept me occupied and intrigued.....Kudos Iram, and all the actors, cast and folks behind the scene.....

Iram Parveen Bilal's domestic drama set in a Pakistani immigrant community is a fast paced story that revolves around the conflict between faith, identity and sense of freedom. The director has a tight grip over this sensitive subject and gradually builds a smooth narration between the thin line of tradition and modern values. The performances are outstanding specially the protagonist Nikita Tewani (Dua Khawar) and the grandfather Qavi Khan (Baba).

Wonderful revealing of the impacts of cutlure within a broken family that can only be healed by embrassing their fears and society biases. The actors were captivating, with memorizing dance performances.

This is a beautiful and beautifully acted movie about reconciliation and one Pakistani's family's journey from heartbreak to reconciliation. It also marks the debut of a remarkable young woman as a screen actor and dancer. The Kathak dance that structures much of the film is breathtaking.

The film was engaging start to finish, and I cried my eyes out, learning and expanding myself along the way. I recommend watching in particular if you can relate to: 1) Self-permission to live fully, vulnerably, artistically; 2) Meshing individuality with faith, tradition, and family; 3) Dancing; 4) Connecting to a parents who are distant or gone; 5) Raising a daughter.

This is a beautiful film that shows loving relationships in a mutli-generation American immigrant family amid realistic tensions. The whole is infused with a passion for the arts (especially dance with its awesome power to express deeply felt emotions). Highly recommended for fans of dance and moving family stories.
