The first episode has little blood and guts, unlike other fantasy series. But for the time it is shown 7:00pm it is as a family safe level, this means you can safely watch this with your children or your Gran, unlike game of thrones.
Main characters are introduced and so is some of the history of this mythical place, including giants ruling many years ago...
Herrot if full and busy with lots going on in the village, and a large industrial area which I hope will be explored in future episodes. The detail in the hall is unbelievable, and I wish I could see how it was made! With the whole size of the set you get an idea why it has cost so much!
Grendel is introduced and looks likes he has a crush on the village healer, and this is probably a good idea as half his hand is chopped off.
Only thing i was unsure of was whether Beowulf was a good guy or a bad guy? Hopefully things will become clearer as the story progresses.
