I believe the film is pretty well done for a first production. It conveys what it means somewhat easily. Although I would be glad if the score could do more good to this short film. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my fifteen minutes.

Here are somethings I thought after having watched the film:

Lucky, Lucky, they called. Thats what they are. The only distinction between peoplw, the only real class difference is based on money. He didn't have much so he suffered. He was made to be the food of serpents like them. Who is to blame though, is it the little serpent with naturally poisonous glands or the "lucky" ones that just can't interrupt the comfort of their lives even to save a life?

"The Jungle" from 2015 is a Turkish 13.5-minute award-winning short film written and directed by Onur Saylak and Dogu Yasar Akal. Despite the title, it is also in the Turkish language, even if there really isn't too much spoken dialogue in here, especially in the second half. Early on, there is still quite a bit, but I'd still say that you can also understand most of this movie if you don't speak the language and if you don't have subtitles. All there is to understand that is. To me, this looked more like an accumulation of shots rather than a movie with a traditional plot and it was sometimes not too easy to see what was going on exactly. Maybe the filmmakers lost the overall picture a bit out of sight with their attempts to create a most meaningful, maybe even symbolic film here. The very last shot with the poisonous snake was somewhat memorable also especially with the music, but it cannot really make me ignore all the mediocrities from before that. It is a bit of a shame as the atmosphere and also the actors seemed to be ready for this to become something better. And there is a good scene here and there too, so I think the potential was there, probably also in terms of camera work. But the outcome as a whole was rather mediocre, so I give it a thumbs-down and suggest skipping the watch here altogether.
