Another show, that takes us on a journey of the discovered and yet unknown world of women. This show feels like cross over between Desperate housewives and sex and the City. The Shady Bunch is about 3 best friends, who while trying to live their everyday normal lives, manage to get themselves into mischief and into trouble. Not to mention all of the past drama that constantly circles around them.
This show has an experienced director behind it, Q. Allan Brocka. Who knows how to capture the light mood and the comedic moments perfectly. Q. Allan Brocka is best known for his comedies. The show's cast also does a great job, as they all manage to have an amazing on screen charisma. The characters interaction makes us want to choose sides and cheer for our favorites. Is it the wanna be Actress, or the self centered Lawyer, or that one friend who is always stuck in the middle as the mediator between them. Callie Hopkins does an excellent job portraying the single mother trying to get her life sorted, the day dreamer who wishes for something more, and ultimately the one who has the most baggage. She does a brilliant job in the opening episode going from being very confident to a nervous rack ball, to being jealous. you can tell if some one is a good actor, by how they make you feel about their character. Great job to the entire cast and crew on this show, Hope to see some more awesome work from you.

On the surface The Shady Bunch looks like the usual story of three young professional women trying to make it in the Big City. But once you start watching you can see that there is so much more happening.
I consider it a cross between Sex In The City and Seinfeld. The comedy and timing are that good. The series starts off with Zoey (played by Callie Hopkins), a struggling actress, picturing her big break. Hopkins does an excellent job not only with the punchlines but also with the subtle elements of comedy.
The whole cast really works well together with Kelsey (Shanna Malcolm) and Sabrina (Rebekah Kochan) playing off each other with perfect timing.
The Shady Bunch is about three good friends who just can't help talking behind each other's backs and making their lives just a little bit harder. Not unlike the characters of Seinfeld.
The writing is very smart and the dialog sounds natural. The jokes come out organically and don't seem forced like too many sitcoms. The director, Q. Allan Brocka, keeps the story moving and frames the entire well. Brocka is an experienced comedic director and really shines in this series.
So, if you are looking for a new favorite show, The Shady Bunch might be just what you are looking for. Highly recommended.

Watching the first episode, made me feel like i am was watching a modern version reboot of Sex and the City, but it was just good, and not Cheesy.
The show starts of Brilliantly with the narrations and character development for Zoey (Played by Callie Hopkins) who is a struggling actress day dreaming of her big moment when she is thanking all of her fans for her award. One thing to note, is that Callie did an excellent job at portraying Zoey, with her subtle facial expression and her great use of comedic pause to lighten the mood and let the story flow.
As we are introduced to the rest of cast, be it Kelsey (Shanna Malcolm) who is newly promoted agent for a big company and the clearly sensible one of the group or Sabrina (Rebekah Kochan) who is the strict, very formal and some what Bitchy attitude that is the opposite of what Zoey is and wants to be.
The dynamic between the 3 main leads is great, they are very comfortable around each other and really come of as 3 best friends who love to talk behind each others back, their chemistry works on all levels and you are really drawn into the show. Callie and Rebekah play excellent of each other, you can really compare the two of them to the chemistry that of Carrie and Samantha from Sex and the City.
the writing and direction of the show is very light and easy to follow, there are no dark or awkward moments that make you feel unease. Overall this could be a great show with whole a lot of laughs.
