- There are several brief, distant views of cigarette smoking and one closer view of the main character smoking. One character mentions trying to stop smoking.
- A character is asked if they're carrying drugs before a police checkpoint. And there's a discreet mention of "blow" (cocaine), but no such drugs are seen or shown used in any of these scenes. Some kind of pills were taken once, but those were likely medicinal.
- Social drinking in bars and on a beach, seemingly beer only, is shown several times. A kid snags one swig of beer before he's stopped.

- Maud sneaks off with another woman's baby, apparently intending to keep it for herself.
- A newspaper shows that Messi has been reported as a missing child, and we wonder if he will ever get back home.
