I’m not sure if I should be surprised or not but there seems to be quite a few World War II zombie movies, or movies that can kind of be linked to World War 2 and the undead – there’s definitely enough for it to be called a sub genre on its own. So Soldier of War (aka Aux) can be added to Dead Snow, Overlord, Outpost, Frankenstein’s Army and a myriad more.
Soldier of War is a British film and it, like many of its kind, feels very British. From the police uniforms to the woodland and countryside to the accents; it will be very familiar to people from the U.K. and horror fans...

Aux is a new action horror from co-writer and director John Adams, which has been selected to play at the Horror-on-Sea Film Festival on Sunday 28th January. I got chance to ask John a few questions about the inspiration behind the story, the reason for the abbreviated title Aux and working with such a talented cast including John Rhys-Davies.
What can we expect from Aux?
What we set out to make with Aux was a smart genre film. The idea was to take the structure and beats of a slasher movie but introduce and weave in a little known true story from WWII as the twist in the plot. From a commercial standpoint, our aim was to be within the horror space enough to attract the traditional horror audience, but be different enough to stand out from the competition.

John Rhys-Davies tells us about Aux, autograph hunting, horror, the Lord Of The Rings TV series and more.
In the world of geekdom, Mr John Rhys-Davies is a legend. He may well have over two hundred and fifty acting credits to his name, but it’s his part in two of the biggest (and greatest) franchises of all time that will always leap to the forefront. As Sallah in both Raiders Of The Lost Ark and The Last Crusade and Gimli in the Lord Of The Rings trilogy, he portrayed characters whose external demeanors may have differed, but whose unswerving sense of loyalty and open heartedness made them something to treasure.
We were fortunate enough to have a chat with him over the phone about British horror film Aux, in which he plays an elderly WWII veteran, who has a unique insight into a recent spate of...

Deep in the woods, two boys discover the entrance to a secret military bunker that has remained hidden since World War II. They awaken something so deadly that one boy doesn’t make it out alive and the other flees for his life, only to be hit by a car. A police investigation begins but, one by one, even the armed police are hunted and killed in grotesque and almost ritualistic ways. Meanwhile, at a local nursing home, an elderly WWII veteran watches all of this unfold...

Evolutionary Films has completed primary shooting on the horror film Aux. Shot in the United Kingdom, the film stars John Rhys-Davies (Raiders of the Lost Ark), Tanya Franks and Rosie Fellner. Taking place in an underground World War II bunker, the film involves two young boys and their dangerous discovery. Something malicious lives deep below the surface. Currently in post-production, a preview of Aux is hosted here. Major plot points are revealed in the film's synopsis. Two boys discover the bunker and their outcome is dire. Not much later, several police officers investigate the macabre scene, only to be targeted themselves. And, there is only one person who can turn things around, if only his strength will hold. A film poster has been released for the film. As well, two concept artworks show the film's central setting and characters. The graphics show what hides in the bunker and difficulties of escaping this fortification.
