The story is about a young french teenage bird, that have deep fantasies about fame and good looking men, but always in conflict with her poor waitressing mum in the burbs of paris. when mum has had it, she force cerise the girl on a plane to kyiev ukraina, where her ukranian father lives. the funny circumstance takes the little girl, who doesnt seak ukranian or russian, right into the ukrainian revolution, with the uproar at maidan square as the centerpoint of it all.
its a very nice film, made on pure willpower, its a sad story about a nations fight for freedom, its a funny film due to cultural clashes and language barrieres, and the archetypes of caracters are well depicted and enjoyable to follow and gave me some good laughs. and how they grow mega vegetables in the shadow of the crypt of chernobyl, where the radiation is like a fountain of youth makes this film iconic.
