Mr. Nice Guy

This episode was yet another example of just how fun Ballers can be, but also nail the dramatic side of the subject as well. For once, there wasn't a single element that bothered me enough to take me out of the episode. In fact, I think this may have even been better than last week. It was also another example of just how nice of a guy Spencer can be, which can sometimes lead to some wrongdoings.

We got a deeper look into Jason this week as he dealt with a possible future client who is dating his mother. What's with this show and people dating each other's mothers? Who I'm pretty sure was Marlo Thomas from Friends ironically. I'm not sure that we needed to see more of Jason's personal life and I hope this isn't a case of the show milking out as much as possible. Ricky took a step back this week as it looks as though he has lost his girlfriend to....Birdman? That whole club scene was weird but I really felt that Charles Greene had a great week as he may be heading back out to the field. He was one of the characters I have taken issue with but I think that's a step in the right direction for him.

So overall, I felt this week balanced the dramatic and comedic side really well. Ballers is coming a consistently fun show on Sunday nights. Hopefully Spencer puts his foot down next week and doesn't let one of his other clients take advantage of him.

Marlo Thomas as usual lights up the screen

She is such a joy to watch. She and Troy are perfectly matched as mother and son. I enjoyed this episode, seeing more of Spence the nice guy and Jason, great sense of humor as always.
