Boy Who Cried Wolf

This was the first week that I wasn't overly entertained by Ballers. The episode pinpointed why I don't know how this show can survive for a long period of time by the way they are telling the story. I believe the season is going to be 12 episodes long but it should have been 6 or 8 if that. It just seems like they are using the same story lines over and over again each week and milking them out.

For instance, the Ricky-Alonzo drama has gone on for too long. And although it seems like it has come to a close, that doesn't necessarily mean next week Alonzo wont turn on him yet again. Or the bickering back and forth between Spencer and Vernon and Reggie. It just seems like those story lines have run their course, do something else. Of course, Reggie and Vernon come running for Spencer's help now that they are in deep trouble. It was the clichéd "boy who cried wolf" storyline.

So overall, it wasn't Ballers best outing. Some highlights here and there with the occasional laugh, but I didn't feel it was as genuine as the show has seemed over the first 5 episodes. It's still one of the more entertaining shows to watch, they just need to find other things to do.
