Vampires just got cooler with Ice-t in the mix; Ice-t talks up his new vampire flick “Bloodrunners”!
The first words out of his mouth were, “Fangoria’S O.G., I’ve been reading that s*** my whole life!” And that’s how a conversation with famed rapper, rocker, actor, and all-around badass, Ice-t begins. Out to promote his latest cinematic endeavor Bloodrunners (directed by Dan Lantz), a vampire flick set in the prohibition days of the 1930s, […]...

For years, Ice-t has helped uphold the law as Odafin Tutuola, but in the new horror film Bloodrunners, the renowned actor and musician plays jazz club owner—and vampire—Chesterfield, who is looking to bootleg a little booze and a whole lot of blood during the Prohibition era. With Bloodrunners out now on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD, I had the great pleasure of speaking with Ice-t about sinking his teeth into the juicy role, his band Body Count's upcoming album Bloodlust, and much more.
Congratulations on the film, Ice-t. I haven't had this much with a vampire movie in a while, and it was so unique, too, with the Prohibition setting, so hats off you and the entire team for putting this together.
Ice-t: Me and Mike Harvey work on Law & Order [Special Victims Unit] together, and he's the makeup and special effects guy from this film. So he was...

Speakeasy Pictures and Impulse-fx have released the first trailer for the period action thriller Bloodrunners, the latest feature from writer/director Dan Lantz (Blind Love, Felix Melman).
Bloodrunners - which combines the action of crime dramas with the otherworldly gore of vampire – centers on a turf war between a crooked cop and a power-hungry vampire (Ice-t, “Law and Order: Svu”) over a small town soaked in illegal hooch during the height of Prohibition. Michael McFadden (The Networker) headlines as a cop living large on looking the other way as booze flows through his protectorate…
By 1933, Prohibition has proven a booming enterprise, where average citizens break the law, hide in the shadows and operate at night. The new world order has even lined the pockets of corrupt cops like Jack Malone (McFadden). He collects a ‘luxury tax’ from every bootlegger and scofflaw in the small town he has sworn to protect.

In the trailer for Dan Lantz’s Bloodrunners, we learn that bootlegging is cool, and vampires are not. That is, vampires are cool in the sense that they’re the kind of chic, good-looking people so many of us aspire to be, but the whole “feasting on humans” bit is the one thing that crooked 1930s cop Jack Malone (Michael McFadden) won’t tolerate. Officer Malone (or is it Detective? We can’t see his shield in the trailer) will take cash in exchange for looking the other way on the booze running into his Prohibition-era town. But when corpses end up along the road and at the most popular speakeasy in town, he’s going to have to roll up his sleeves and do some enforcing.
Malone will encounter some resistance from Chesterfield, the saloon owner played by Ice-t (or “Ice-Teeth”), who is maybe also the head vampire, or...
