Don't Do Anything Stupid

So after two decent episodes of Ballers, this week proved to be the best yet in terms of creating an interweaving story perfectly. I had a small issue with the fact that the first few episodes didn't feel connected enough. And I just didn't care about all the characters. But with everyone chilling at one party hosted by Spencer, it did wonders.

Ricky Jerret's story continues to be the most interesting character, and now with the reveal that his girlfriend is in fact Alonzo's mother, makes that situation even more compelling. Although, I'm really not sure that a veteran player would get tormented in a locker room like he is. From what I hear, that's more of a rookie thing to do. No matter, I'm still rooting for this guy to succeed. Speaking of jerks. Reggie once again proves that he's the biggest a**hole in the series and just continues to mess with Spencer's supposed power. I was also pleasantly surprised to see that Rashard Mendenhall is contributing to the script on a consistent basis. I think it's great that we have a former player there to help give his experiences to the show.

So overall, besides the funny cameos of Jeremy Shockey and Dan Le Batard, the episode was pretty fun. Spencer is still trying to get a hold of everybody, but I think the show has grabbed a hold of itself and found it's stride. We'll see if next week can be just as good.
