Nobody can deny just how brilliant Lee, Sally & Katy are. However, it would be difficult to sustain an entire series with just those three characters. When Tim Vine left, it seemed impossible to replace him and his witty, quick one liners (his stand up shows are magnificent!); however, the genius in getting Hugh Dennis to join the ensemble is an absolute masterstroke. I am currently laughing raucously at his Italian accent in a scene that is farce incarnate (I have directed and acted in many a farcical comedy and am a longtime admirer of Joe Orton).
Another (perhaps unsung?) member of the ensemble is Geoffrey. He is quintessentially English and you think you have seen him in a million things but haven't. He is an absolute marvel who adds gravitas and class to every scene . The farce gets better and better as the show progresses and you will be weeping with hilarity until the end. I don't want to give away any spoilers but this show would transfer perfectly to the stage. Absolute genius.
