By the end of the Mahabharat, the entire humanity will know the outcome of going on one path or the other. Gandhari blesses Yudhishthir that he never goes against his elder father. Purochan has completed the house of wax in Varnavat. Karna does not agree with Shakuni about his Varnavat strategy. He makes his disagreement clear to Duryodhan. Shakuni suggests that Karna is with Duryodhan only because of Anga Desh, but Karna is offended and says he will be Duryodhan's friend regardless of him being the ruler of Anga Desh.
Karna says Duryodhan is a warrior and a sneak attack like house of wax is beneath him. Karna says that in a scenario of war, Magadh King Jarasandh, Shishupal and Rukmi will all fight from their side, due to their hatred of Krishna. Shakuni is clear that Ashwathama likes Duryodhan and thus Drona will also fight under Duryodhan's flag in an event of war. Kripa will also fight for his sister's best interest, who is married to Drona. Bhishma would anyways fight under Hastinapur's flag.. Vidur is suspicious about Shanuki's plan and is not able to figure out why Shakuni wants to send Yudhishthir to Varnavat alone.. Dhritarashtra gives his tacit approval to Duryodhan (he says they both want the same thing, but all the elders and the population are with Yudhishthir, so he cant take any step publicly that compromises his neutrality), but asks him to be very careful about whatever they are doing.
Dhritarashtra consults Bhishma who doesn't want Duryodhan to accompany Yudhishthir to Varnavat.. Dhritarashtra is beyond happy, as this is exactly what he wanted. Dhritarashtra tells in open court that he cant send Duryodhan to Varnavat as the state treasury is near empty.
