WWE ‘Survivor Series': Watch The Shield Triple Power-Bomb Kofi Kingston From the Ropes (Video)
It’s a new day, yes it is. Three-man WWE tag-team The New Day did not survive the opening match of Sunday’s “Survivor Series.” Fellow threesome The Shield just dropped the opposing trio — some members from greater heights than others. The “Monday Night Raw” representatives conquered the “SmackDown Live” one in pretty killer fashion — just ask Kofi Kingston’s back. And neck. And whomever will have to help him walk to and from the bathroom tonight. The Shield Reunites at WWE’s ‘Survivor Series’ (Video)
Colby Lopez in WWE Survivor Series (2014)
The Shield is back at it again — at least, for one match. Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose reunited to powerbomb A.J. Styles through an announce table Sunday during a pretty epic “Survivor Series” match. If that doesn’t make much sense to you, good eye. On Sunday, Ambrose and Styles were technically teammates, representing Team “SmackDown Live” versus “Raw” in a traditional “Survivor Series” elimination match. Regardless, the two Team Blue rivals got into it during the contest, which led to an Ambrose elimination pretty early on. The so-called Lunatic Fringe would return to help his two old friends from.

12 WWE Wrestlers Who Had The Worst 2015
WWE.com

For some wrestlers, 2015 was great to them. The New Day rose to new levels of popularity, The Dudley Boyz finally got the WWE return that they long pined for, and before his injury, Seth Rollins became a top star and carried the company on his back for the majority of the year.

There were other wrestlers who weren’t so lucky, and 2015 was quite cruel to them. Some talent looked set to break out this year, only to become mere afterthoughts. Others received character changes that were so damaging to their careers that they may not ever fully recover from it.

Wrestlers like Kevin Owens, Sasha Banks and Charlotte had a disappointing year as their pushes didn’t match their talent. Overall, though, they’re at least on the main roster and look poised to have lengthy WWE careers, so they’re not found here. This list is...

Cesaro May Return From Injury For WWE WrestleMania 32?
WWE.com

In a company that has been ravaged by injuries over the last couple of months, the loss of Cesaro was one of the most devastating. Having just started to get some time in the spotlight after months of under-utilization, Cesaro was forced to submit to surgery on November 23rd to repair a torn left rotator cuff that he had been working through for a couple of months.

Cesaro’s injury caused him to pull out of Survivor Series last month, and he is still expected to be out of action for the next several months. At the time of his surgery in November, it was reported that the injury would sideline Cesaro four to six months. This puts his participation at WrestleMania 32 up in the air, as the timeline for recovery will be coming due right around that time.

If Cesaro recovers on the quicker end of things,...

Ranking All 2015 WWE PPVs From Worst To Best
WWE.com

To say the year 2015 has been a roller coaster ride for WWE would be an understatement. While there have been plenty of bright spots – the enthusiasm for the WWE Network and increase in subscriptions, Nxt’s surge in popularity, a increase in profits over the previous year – there have been an abundance of lows.

This year has seen an unusual amount of pay-per-view events that failed to build hype and anticipation, and in the cases of the ones that did, many of those fell short of delivering. Too many rematches and controversial booking decisions led to what may go down as one of the worst years for WWE from a strictly creative standpoint.

Now that every PPV is in the books, let’s go back and take a look at the year’s shows and determine which ones were great and which ones were…not so great. No,...

WWE TLC 2015: 9 Swerves That Could Happen
WWE.com

This time of year is traditionally tough for WWE. Things have been no different in 2015, because wrestling fans at large didn’t react with any sense of overwhelming positivity towards Survivor Series. An injury to Seth Rollins meant the company had to reshuffle the card quickly, eventually culminating in a tournament final between Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose.

Moments after Reigns emerged victorious, winning the vacant WWE World Heavyweight Title, Sheamus made his presence felt. Cashing in his ‘Money In The Bank’ privileges, the big Irishman left the pay-per-view as WWE Champion. On television, Sheamus has been painted as the new crown jewel of The Authority. In addition, he’s also formed his own group, the League Of Nations.

At TLC, Sheamus will defend his gold against Roman Reigns in a ‘Tables, Ladders And Chairs’ match. That’s not the only title bout. Alberto Del Rio faces Jack...

5 Ways To Have Better Handled The Vacant WWE Championship
WWE.com

Injuries happen, talents are sidelined, and plans need to be changed. That’s just the nature of professional wrestling/sports entertainment.

While the WWE has had numerous experiences dealing with unexpected injuries over the years, they don’t always make chicken salad out of chicken you-know-what.

Seth Rollins had been enjoying the best year of his career, holding the WWE Championship since WresleMania and he was scheduled to face Roman Reigns in the main event of Survivor Series 2015. Due to the champ’s injury, the title was vacated and contested in a tournament spanning several weeks, with the semi-finals and finals taking place at the pay-per-view.

Aside from its predictable and routine nature, the method in which WWE handled the vacant World Heavyweight Championship lacked anything that could be classified as creative or fresh.

WWE missed several opportunities to inject some much needed energy into their product in the wake of Rollins’ injury.

25 Wtf Moments From WWE SmackDown (Dec 3)
WWE.com

Survivor Series is only just in the books, yet we find ourselves two weeks from WWE’s next PPV – the (hopefully) chaotic TLC. As such, much of this week’s SmackDown revolved around establishing the card for that show, building upon existing feuds and giving plenty of backstage promo time to a variety of superstars.

If there was one man who popped up everywhere this week, it was the current number one contender. This was very much Roman’s show. He opened SmackDown and closed it, as well as appearing in a handful of other segments throughout the night.

Of course, where Reigns goes, ‘Wtf Moments’ will follow – although he wasn’t alone this week. Neville, Becky Lynch and Big E. Langston all weighed in with their fair share of jaw-dropping incidents as well.

25. ‘League Of Jobbers’ WWE.com

The show opened with Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, and both Usos in the ring.

10 WWE Questions You Most Want Answered (Nov 28)
WWE.com

The WWE Universe has changed quite a bit in the last week following a Survivor Series event that saw Sheamus become the World Champion after cashing in the briefcase against Roman Reigns. The first WWE Title reign of Roman’s career lasted only about five minutes with the expectation that he’ll get that WWE Title back between now and WrestleMania.

The when and where for that Reigns title win is up for debate. It may not happen as soon as the December 13th TLC event when Sheamus defends against Reigns in a TLC match, but a title change at the Royal Rumble seems very likely.

Other feuds that look to be shaping up for TLC include Kevin Owens vs. Dean Ambrose for the Ic Title, Alberto Del Rio vs. Jack Swagger for the Us Title and the Tag Team Champions The New Day seem to have their...

37 Wtf Moments From WWE Raw (Nov 23)
WWE.com

How bad was Survivor Series? Surely this episode of Raw couldn’t be any worse.

Given the feedback that WWE must have received following the most pussyfooted, predictable and unadulteratedly safe pay per view they have ever put on, surely we could expect a surprise or two on Raw? Would that be too much to ask for? Something to raise our heartbeat above resting….

Then again, the powers at be may have seen the reaction to Paige’s promo on Charlotte from last week’s show – something that certainly gave us something to shout about – and decided that more risky content isn’t for them in 2015… I hope that isn’t the case, but Survivor Series certainly represented some sort of retreat.

WWE needs to something out of the ordinary with Raw this week, not only to make up for the utter travesty that befell us all on Sunday night,...

5 Reasons Sheamus Cashing In Was Best For Business
WWE.com

Survivor Series has been and gone, and a new WWE World Heavyweight has been crowned.

Many expected the tournament to end with either Roman Reigns or Dean Ambrose turning heel, but the man on top at the end of the show was the man who actually lost in a first round match of the tournament. Sheamus had been carrying the Money in the Bank briefcase since June, and a small number (myself included) called him leaving Survivor Series the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

The decision led to a lot of folk rolling their eyes, and for good reason. Ever since winning the briefcase Sheamus has been booked to look like a chump at every opportunity, and had the momentum of a particularly lethargic sloth coming into the event. To make matters worse, he was booked in a greying manner during the show itself. WWE likes their cash-ins to...

7 Ups And 9 Downs From Last Night’s WWE Raw (Nov 23)
WWE.com

Coming off a Survivor Series that was widely panned for poor booking decisions and a “stay the course” mentality with keeping Roman Reigns as the future face of the company, WWE needed to deliver a strong Raw that set the table for the next PPV, Tables, Ladder & Chairs, in three weeks. They needed to give fans a reason to hang with the product.

Instead, the writers threw some of the most nonsensical stuff they could manage at the wall Monday night, hoping something stuck. They tossed the Dudley Boyz out in a meaningless match to get slaughtered rather than building to something worthwhile. They tried to advance the failing MexAmerica storyline – and made Jack Swagger the face of the resistance. They jobbed a rookie 24 hours after giving him his first PPV victory. They gave the fans Sasha… and then gave her four minutes to win with a rollup.

Backstage News On WWE’s Decision To Make Sheamus World Champion
WWE.com

Dave Meltzer reports that the decision to crown Sheamus the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion wasn’t made until just a few hours before the Survivor Series.

Meltzer said on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that the company had been going back and forth about who should be the next World Champion before deciding on what occurred right before airtime. Apparently the reason they chose to go with Sheamus over Roman Reigns was because they didn’t want Reigns being booed as champion.

If true this begs the question why they even put the title on him to begin with. If they’re aware that there’s backlash against Reigns from the fans, you would think they would be willing to adapt to it rather than try to book around it. And the usual excuse of blaming the negative reaction on the city the event took...

WWE TLC 2015: 8 Matches That Must Happen
WWE.com

Both Survivor Series and the WWE World Heavyweight Title tournament have come to a close, and the company finally got a new champion – Roman Reigns, who immediately lost the belt to Sheamus after a Money in the Bank briefcase cash-in.

Fans had debated about whether Reigns or Dean Ambrose would turn heel and run with The Authority as WWE Champion, but instead of a well-executed redux of Survivor Series 1998’s hot closing angle, the company decided to go with a weak imitation of the end of SummerSlam 2013.

To say that reaction to the show has been negative would be an understatement – while Sheamus’s post-WrestleMania heel turn was supposed to breathe new life into his career, he’s become even staler than he was as a babyface. The response he gets from the WWE Universe is limited to “You look stupid” chants, and months of poor booking has...

10 Questions WWE Doesn’t Want You To Ask After Survivor Series 2015
Instagram

Survivor Series is still considered one of the big four WWE PPVs, but 2015 might just be the final year that’s the case. Despite having what’s been looking like a fairly underwhelming card for a while now, the event certainly had its moments and is one which will be talked about for a while, but it wasn’t exactly one of the year’s highlights.

The swerve many were expecting in the match between Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns never came, and while the ending may have been something of a surprise as it was happening, it was actually really rather predictable in hindsight. Still, an interesting new status quo has now been established for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, not to mention a number of other WWE superstars.

However, despite that, there were still a lot of very strange and frustrating decisions made by WWE creative last night,...

7 Ups And 10 Downs From WWE Survivor Series 2015
WWE.com

Everyone who was expecting a shocking swerve at Survivor Series got something they could sink their teeth into Sunday night, but it might not have been the type of swerve they were hoping for. If you were looking for Roman Reigns to follow his family and become a corporate champion, you were disappointed. If you were looking for Dean Ambrose to become the most disheveled corporate champion in WWE history, you were disappointed.

But if you were looking for midcarder and Money in the Bank briefcase holder Sheamus to shrug off a loss to Jey Uso, Kalisto and Ryback and become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion, then you got your money’s worth Sunday. Also, if you were looking for aging legends to bury young superstars unnecessarily, you got a bonus out of the deal.

Survivor Series wasn’t horrendous – the two tournament semifinal matches were pretty...

WWE And Tna: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Nov 22)
WWE.com

Survivor Series is here! Sure, WWE didn’t bother to book a traditional Survivor Series match until the day of the show. And sure, the event is no longer on Thanksgiving night, but by the end of the pay-per-view you’re still likely to feel stuffed, a little bloated and ready for a nap.

It was an incredibly bizarre week in professional wrestling. Isis may have threatened WWE, Melissa Joan Hart hurt Kevin Owens’ feelings, Tna found a new network, and Dean Ambrose said he’ll have breakfast for dinner if he wins the world title. Breakfast for dinner? That’s crazy talk! What a lunatic!

You know, I actually get a kick out of the running gag of R-Truth thinking he’s in a title match, then is informed he’s not. But how is it possible that WWE remembers that joke, but can’t remember that...

10 Reasons WWE Shouldn’t Turn Dean Ambrose Heel
WWE.com

Shhhh! Don’t tell anyone, but Dean Ambrose could be turning heel very, very soon.

Depending on what you read, plans to turn the Lunatic Fringe heel have been in the works for some time with countless online sources predicting that this Sunday’s Survivor Series event could be the tipping point.

**Potential spoiler alert**

Ambrose could turn as part of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship tournament where it is predicted he will either face Roman Reigns in the final, or cost his former Shield brethren by interfering. However, the last few days has seen a shift in the betting market, so to speak, with PWInsider Elite claiming that there was a big push within the WWE creative team for Dean Ambrose to take the gold.

Either way, it looks like a heel Ambrose/face Reigns rivalry will be taking us up to the Royal Rumble and beyond.

Lana Accuses Paige Of Bullying Her In Nxt
WWE.com

In the wake of her newsmaking angle with Charlotte to close this past Monday Night Raw, Paige found herself in another dispute with a WWE diva.

Lana took to Twitter to insult the #1 contender and accuse her of being a bully during their time spent together in Nxt. She pledged her support for Charlotte in their Survivor Series match for the Divas championship before calling Paige “mean and disrespectful.”

Paige fired back by telling Lana to stop trying to get a storyline, giving this the appearance of a legitimate exchange between the two. Lana then replied saying she was speaking the truth and added “We both know you bullied me when we were in Nxt.”

Paige denied the allegations, citing Lana’s brief time in the developmental promotion…

It’s worth noting that Lana has since deleted the tweets.

10 Booking Steps For WWE Raw (Nov 9)
WWE.com

By the time Monday Night Raw rolls around on Monday, November 9th, there will only be 2 more episodes before Survivor Series. In a perfect world, WWE would be able to adequately build a card before then. After all, the company do have Smackdown, the WWE Network, social media and even YouTube to work with. Sadly, it seems only Raw will be the place where feuds are built and matches are established.

Previously, before the injury to Seth Rollins, there were only 2 matches confirmed for the Pay-Per-View. On the under card, Paige will clash with Charlotte, vying to win the WWE Divas Title. The proposed main event between Rollins and Roman Reigns is now impossible, meaning there could be a title tournament for the vacant WWE Title. It does look like the show will also be bolstered by The Usos vs. The New Day for the WWE Tag-Team Titles,...

7 Alternatives To Roman Reigns Winning WWE World Title
WWE.com

Seth Rollins is out for six to nine months with various torn parts of his legs, meaning World Wrestling Entertainment is left without a champion atop the proverbial hill. Never fear though, as necessity breeds action, and a tournament has been announced for the forthcoming Survivor Series special event.

The details are still fairly scarce. We don’t know who will be involved, we don’t even know how many superstars will vie for the strap. One thing seems to be for sure however, and that is that Roman Reigns will stand tall at the end of it all. WWE has clearly been desperate for him to become their new face, and the tournament presents an opportunity to pull the trigger on his rise.

Looking at the WWE landscape, there can’t be major arguments with this. The nature of WWE’s standstill booking means that not many other superstars are screaming Champion.

Predicting WWE Survivor Series World Title Tournament
WWE.com

This Thursday, World Wrestling Entertainment confirmed that current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins suffered a debilitating knee injury during a match in Dublin and will be forced to miss between six and nine months of action. As a result, Rollins has been stripped of his title and his highly-anticipated Survivor Series match with Roman Reigns has been cancelled.

While fans around the world are wishing Rollins the best in his recovery, the news of the tournament has raised more questions than it’s answered. How many men will be participating in it? Will WWE be able to get any big names to return for the Survivor Series? Will the company reuse the old “Deadly Game” music from Survivor Series 1998?

Everything’s still very much up in the air, and in all likelihood, not even WWE’s creative team knows how things are going to pan out right now.

The Usos WWE Raw Return: Plans For Long Feud With The New Day
wwe.com

The Usos returned to Raw on Monday night, gaining a huge pop and showing the in-ring skills that make them WWE’s best tag team. They wrestled as part of the main event alongside Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Ryback versus Seth Rollins, The New Day and Kevin Owens in a “Survivor Series” match.

Jey eliminated Kofi Kingston, only to then be pinned by Big E. Jimmy fell to Owens, but this was still a big feel comeback for the duo.

The plan going forward is for a long feud with The New Day. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported last week that The Usos return is the reason why The Dudley Boyz were moved on from the tag title scene. It is expected that The Usos and New Day will have several matches in the coming months.

News of Jey and Jimmy training at the Performance Center broke last week,...

8 Awesome Survivor Series Teams WWE Must Book
WWE.com

Survivor Series usually brings out the best (or worst) in fantasy bookers, as fans across the globe throw together dream teams of superstars past and present. Although the PPV has failed to really impress in recent years, particularly in terms of traditional five-on-five action, this year WWE actually find themselves with a large enough roster to fully explore the concept.

While it remains to be seen just how faithful WWE are to the theme of their second-oldest pay per view, the options available to them are quite staggering.

Clearly all eight of these teams couldn’t appear on the same card; there are some overlapping superstars, and putting on a handful of traditional Survivor Series matches may simply be too much to ask for in this day and age.

It’s more than likely that WWE will stick to one or two elimination bouts, but that doesn’t...

Triple H Says WWE Planning For Bigger Nxt Events & UK Shows
WWE.com

During a conference call to promote the WWE Nxt Takeover event on Saturday, Triple H mentioned that WWE is planning on doing more Nxt events at bigger arenas just like like Takeover in Brooklyn. That’s no surprise considering WWE has sold out Barclays Center on Saturday for Takeover, Sunday for SummerSlam and Monday for Raw.

Hunter said he wants to run those Takeover events “a few times” per year while feeding off of the “epic” WWE PPV events, such as SummerSlam. He didn’t mention it, but that likely means that future Takeover specials could be around Royal Rumble, WrestleMania and Survivor Series. They could run the Takeover specials on Saturday nights and in the case of WrestleMania, it would probably be Friday night because the Hall of Fame ceremony takes place on Saturday.

Since the “big four” PPV events tend to attract fans that travel from out of town,...

WWE Divas Champion Nikki Bella is currently dealing with a back injury and was given the weekend off from WWE live events in order to rehab it.

Nikki was in action last Monday on Raw as part of a six woman tag match. It didn’t appear like she hurt her back during the match, so it could just be from wear and tear from working on the road so much.
