Inside Mind
kosmasp24 October 2016
Or other worlds to explore. Sometimes it's not easy to depict an illness and sometimes it's just how the viewer will take it all in. Because while in a book you can describe things and let the mind of the reader fill in the rest, you do have to put it all on the screen when it comes to film. So while I have no idea what the script looked like and haven't looked on the original material for this, I do know they do a really good job putting all this on screen.

The performances are great too and you do feel for the characters, even when it gets kind of weird and out of place (literally at times). Sometimes it's way too confusing, depending on how much you want to follow it that is, so be ready for that. If you are, the drama value and the character journey is really worth watching this

One of a kind in Turkey, great movie!
alarakeskin5 March 2015
This film is extraordinary in so many ways. It is about a women named Esra and her transitions in life. She is a free spirit and since a very young age she dealt with adaptation problems. While she was growing up, her dreams were growing up with her too. After a while, her dreams took control of her life and she started to loose control over reality.

The best part of the film is: This story is inspired by a true story; by the story of Esra Inal who is also the main character of the movie! This is her first role ever in a film and she got the chance to play her own story. Her overall performance is 10/10. I honestly think she is an extraordinary women and everybody should see her performance (especially in the fight scenes, just perfect!) Due to the latest news in Turkey, men could feel disturbed by some of the scenes in the film but actually they should not. They all represent oppressive male figures but with Esra they went through a transition too. In the final moments of the film, we see how love spreads all around and melt even the coldest hearts. The power of forgiveness conquers all.

8 Seconds is filled up with so many good and positive messages and everybody would see a part of their own life. We all have Esras, Tayfuns and Mos in our lives. If you didn't watch it yet, I recommend you to clear your mind, give you a 2 hour of free space and watch 8 Seconds. You will definitely enjoy how the film makes you feel in the end.

Missing this film and it's message is a crime. It's a 2 hours long gift for you, appreciate it! Great story, perfect performances, extraordinary women and wonderful director!

Overall value: 9/10 (two thumbs up :)
