The Originals: The awakening, is a web-series featuring Kol Mikaelson as the main character. This whole series has 4 episodes (each episode about 2 min long) The show is a little extra to the second season of the Originals, so no this is NOT the Originals, it's The Originals THE AWAKENING. Nathaniel Buzolic, again plays the role great, the whole flashback stuff suits him so this show has probably the best Kol scenes in it but again you have to like Kol to like this small series. Also you must have seen at least season 1 and half of season 2 of the originals to get more into this. I also recommend you watching The vampire diaries to have a bit more knowledge of the Kol played by Nathaniel Buzolic.

This is the one of the best web series I've ever seen in my entire life, I've seen many web series like Got,Witcher, Stranger things but none of them are as good as TO specially the family bonding and always and forever.

Everything about The Originals is just breathtaking. Perfectly described as how "family is always the power". Even if Niklaus Mikaelson didn't live an honourable life, yet he cannot be hated. Amazing story, superb acting, wonderful plot and Joseph Morgan I love you.

i always look forward in watching the episodes of THE ORIGINALS, i love the fact that Joseph Morgan, Niklaus.. learned how to express love to others, he is now acting as a father to his daughter,, he may do crazy bad things but he is still good in nature,,i like him very much! Rebecca is one of my favorites too.. she is very sweet and caring but i pity her for not experiencing how it feels to carry a child in her womb ,because it really felt great when i had my first baby boy! it feels heaven. I hope eventually she will turn in to human again and fall in love with a great man because she deserves it more than anyone else, I idolize her for being strong despite of the fact that her brothers dominate her especially Klaus,he always tries to control her and her decisions and often he locks Rebecca in her coffin.. So sad! I didn't like it when Rebecca's soul was entered in to someone else body! I hate her wicked mother for doing that! I think it'll be better if Rebecca's soul will enter the body of Victoria Justice!!! not that newbie vampire..

This is "The Originals: Awakening", a 4-part mini-series from 2014, and each of the four episodes only runs for 2 minutes, so the entire thing is 8 minutes long, which means you can easily watch it in one setting. This is connected to the series "The Originals", which I have not seen, and "The Vampire Diaries", which I have seen, and the approach is basically the same as in the latter. It is a mix of mystery, horror and drama with supernatural aspects (vampires and witches) from start to finish. But the only areas where it somewhat delivers are the costumes and set decorations. In terms of stories, acting and memorability, it is forgettable popcorn horror and I give it a thumbs-down. Maybe you have to have seen the shows this is spun-off from, but you never should have to have seen one project in order to appreciate another. And honestly, these 8 minutes here do not get me curious about the shows I just mentioned. Watch this one here if you love "The Vampire Diaries", but maybe also think about your taste afterward. Final side-note: This does not have 6 episodes or a second season as stated here on IMDb. It consists of one season with 4 episodes.

It's so boring, there is nothing to watch! After TVD was over I had no option but to watch this one. I was expecting more from this because of the first reason I liked the stories of originals in TVD and I really liked Klaus there but this series just me made hate him. Every time he makes dumb and impulsive decisions and ruins someone's life. The second reason is of course its high rating, which turns out be an utter disappointment for me.
No one can beat originals except their own family so they just keep on waking up someone from their family as their enemies. Besides, there are so many plot holes. TVD (season 5-8) does have plot holes, but it has even more.
I know people like it more because of the mature content, but I prefer a better story line than dialogues plus I never felt TVD as an immature one.
I gave up at the beginning of the season 3. ( I didn't like even 2 seasons before that, I don't why I continued).
