It's over..............it's finished
mrosser19 December 2014
A year and 2 months ago, I watched the entire series of Avatar: The Last Airbender in just 3 days. It's has gone on to being my favorite TV show of all time. When that series ended, I felt so happy and yet so sad at the same time. Now The Legend Of Korra has finished and I feel exactly the same. What an incredible last 2 seasons Korra has had. After the disappointment of Book 2, no one thought it would be as strong as the finale that we have been given. It's hard to describe how great these last 2 episodes were. The voice acting was perfect, the story was perfect, the action was perfect, the emotions were perfect, the music was perfect and the animation, heat again blew me away, just like the series finale to TLA. It's sad to see this franchise leave, but you can be darn sure that it went off with a bang. Thank you creators, writers, animators and composers for creating the entire Avatar franchise, and for making most arguably the greatest piece of animated storytelling that television has to offer. Peace out my friends, long live Avatar.

There's so much more...

While Nickelodeon will forever be ingrained in my mind as "The Company That Tried Ruining Korra," that happily did not ruin the fantastic series finale for me. It is truly bittersweet to see Korra's journey end, but man has it been one heck of a ride.

With the fate of the world once again hanging in the balance, Korra and her friends must band together to save it. However, this battle might cost them everything.

This has always been (in my opinion) Nickelodeon's best show since "Avatar: The Last Airbender" ended. It has taken on even darker, more mature themes than its predecessor. Throughout the running of the show we are given deeper looks at issues concerning equality, spirituality, anarchy, and even dictatorships. This show has managed to combine very adult themes with a children's show in such a seamless fashion, you can't help but wonder why adult oriented shows can't do that.

This season has been a huge commentary on Democracy versus Dictatorship while also showing the gray areas with both sides. We can actually understand the viewpoint of the antagonist (even though we know what they're doing is wrong). It gives us a true look at the complexities of these themes and shows us how far anyone can fall from grace, no matter how well-intentioned they seem to be. This makes the overall theme of redemption all the more powerful. Redemption proves to be the key needed to end the conflict, however, the creators are still willing to show there are consequences to our actions. So if we want redemption, true redemption, we must be willing to face the consequences of our actions.

This finale put all of those themes on a collision course and they collided with true splendor. We find all of the main characters getting their moment to shine in some fantastic action sequences, along with some great characterization, including some truly shocking events. For me, personally, the last five minutes of the show are what truly got my emotions kicked into overdrive. I shall not spoil anything, but it is a great way to end the show.

Once again, "Korra" gives us an animated treat filled with intelligent political, social, and philosophical subtext. There are many shows that would collapse under such weighty themes, but "The Legend of Korra" held them up with true skill. This is all thanks to having a wonderful voice cast, fantastic hero and villain (with many similarities between the two of them), highly-skilled team of writers, and daring set of creators. This show will go down as one of the all-time best animated shows in history, and maybe even as one of the best shows in general. It truly is bittersweet to see it end, but it has been quite a ride.

Above and beyond of what I expected

Im a huge fan of the avatar series, they've done an incredibly job through the years in the animation and storytelling. Even though this was be the last TV show of the avatar series, we still have the released comics and those who have not come yet to fill us with more excitement, the season finale was an amazing piece of work, and well deserved by this franchise and the fans. Setting up for a future story, I felt the last minutes of the LAST STAND being hopeful, funny and leaving the world with a big explosion. Thank you to the creators and all the people who was behind this project, it was really an amazing ride and looking forward to your next journey

For what it was, it was fitting.

Looking back at the first season and everything else leading up to this finale, it's just amazing to see how far this show has come. It was great to see these characters we've come to know and love go through a dramatic change with well thought out character development. To experience their journey, to feel their pain in moments of happiness and sadness. To see the world we fell in love with before go through some serious changes. Legend of Korra has been nothing short of amazing, and it's very sad to see it end.

Now, if you expected something along the lines of Sozin's Comet, or at least similar to Enter The Void or Venom of The Red Lotus, then you might be disappointed. Keep in mind, there was budget cuts for this final season and what they've been able to create with it was almost near flawless. But the final battle won't be as epic and big in scale like the final battle in ATLA, but for this series in particular, it was very fitting. So many elements gelled very well and the main resolution was great. To some it may be cheap and rushed, but to me, and many other fans, it was a perfect example of excellent writing.

The soundtrack, once again, was amazing. So many times throughout the finale, you'd hear the score in the background and they'd nail every emotion you have on a particular scene. When things were tense, the sound score put you on the edge of your seat. When things became emotional, the theme in the background will be enough to draw out tears. I'm still waiting for the Book 2 and 3 soundtrack to be released, because Jeremy Zuckerman is an amazing composer.

Now, the ending itself. Well, for what it was, it was fitting. I would have loved there to be at least 5 or more minutes to show more. I mean, the show ends with you wanting more. It's crazy! It's not a cliffhanger or anything, but it does feel a tad too quick. But I don't mind, because I'll have nothing but fond memories of this finale. Simply because, they tried something different.

Overall, this finale, definitely deserves a 10.

Now don't mistake the 9 that I've given. That's actually my overall score of the entire series. It had it's low points, but in the end, everything worked so well. It was a privilege to experience an amazing. But for now, I will be tear bending :)

Good stuff📈

Despite having ups and downs in quality, the show met a great ending episode. Korra seems to have finally learned some real life wisdom this time around as shown by her ending conversation with the engineer girl, unlike her first two season finale battles which is much appreciated by the audience. I appreciate the whole show. Thank you for this beautiful workpiece.

Could not be better than this

It is the same feeling, after finish watching "The Last Airbender" series final episode it will be like, "wait that's it all, no! Don't end it up here, keep going". It's kind of both happy and sad. You have watched a greater series but it's ended up here. It's no more a kids show, grownups like me😁 can also enjoy the series.

The kiss is why this season finale is for me is a ten out of ten. The fact that they had to cut it out because of nickelodeon makes me want to give it an even higher rating.

Underwhelming
uirangs25 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Impressive visual animation and action, but underwhelming plot and character development for such an important finale. The biggest problem is that, narrative wise, you shouldn't treat a nuclear bomb like it's a sword or a pistol. Even if it's in a Mecha. It cheapens the menace of the weapon. And Kuvira being revealed as some sort of Lex Luthor was also lame.

I disagree with all the comments and high stars.
GulceGencer24 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
It was a ruined finale! All those romance between characters for 4 seasons and almost none of them ended up together. Especially Mako and Asami or Korra. The Avatar: Last Air Bender ended so much better and resolved. But this was ambigious and felt uncompleted. Finishing the greatest spin-off of all time with a "girls vacation"?? No...
