helter'n skelters does america on rubbered wheels

A chaotic road trip movie, with extreme ups and downs. its a funny film if you know how to read the line between your 5 fingers. the setup of plot are used since the invention of the silverscreen, and the kind of hit and run and the mice running from the cats are noveltty and nonoriginal, its like a cheeck and chong experience, just not the grassy foggy- like spin that they do.

the loony tune interview parts of the film are like a bit unescesarry and the dumb interceptors are , well, a bit too dumb, the acting are crazy and will not hit the heavy thinktankers but fathom many youngsters of comedy. the car driving are nice but not as good as smokey and the bandits movies.you will anyway have a joyous evening at this show so its a recommend from the grumpy old man

You have to be kidding me

This movie gets 8's, really? I thought it was so bad I only made it 20 minutes in, and that was a chore. Linda Hamilton has obviously hit bottom. Just silly nonsense that does not resonate with me at all. To each his own I guess. How anyone could rate this an 8 is just beyond me.

A colorful, campy throwback exploitation film with modern touches
olivia-motley23 October 2020
A delightful, colorful homage to 1970s exploitation films and the fool-hearted chase of the American Dream, plain and simple. It was absolutely brilliant for an independent, B-movie, buddy-adventure story. A little rough around the edges, but that's what the story calls for. It doesn't take itself too seriously so you shouldn't either.

What's especially refreshing about it: Atypical gender rolls, amazing soundtrack, impressive cinematography, fun animation sequences, and secret easter-eggs of hilarious set design (like the welcome-to-this-state signs)

This movie was so fun to watch from beginning to end, and though it tapped into some familiar themes, story-lines, and movie formulas, the dialogue is well written and the characters are surprisingly refreshing. The 3 main actors (Martinez, Matheny, and Dumesnil) have really good chemistry and play well off each other (which sometimes results in truly hilarious moments.) Will Addison clearly loves film and is playing around with his own imaginative and colorful voice here while tipping his hat to a nostalgic bygone era of cinema.

I felt like this was a low-budget blend of less-violent and less-sexualized Tarantino meets Oh Brother where Art Thou at times. Reluctant criminals chasing the American Dream through an explosively colorful and dusty southern backdrop.

We had such a fun time watching this- it captures the uniquely American wild spirit and I can't wait to see what's next for Addison.

Manifest our Destiny
nogodnomasters10 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Jack (Ben Matheny) and Scottie (Matthew Paul Martinez ) share a trailer and wash dishes in Aberdeen, Mississippi. They owe King (Linda Hamilton) money and she plans on collecting soon. Jack gets an old postcard from his mother saying she is dead and his inheritance in under a pier in San Clemente. Jack imagines it is buried treasure, gold coins and he sets out with no money and no gas with the King's daughter tracking them. The picture takes place during the Age of Farrah, late 70's I imagine.

If you thought Linda looked butch before, this picture makes her look bad. The scenes could have been done better in this Tarantino inspired trip. The guys are idiots but don't lack for imagination.

Guide: F-word. Brief male butt nudity. No sex.

A total blast-- an indie comedy road classic

This movie isn't for everybody-- it's totally nuts. Bombastic, both outrageously contemporary and doggedly throwback. It's goofy and sweet but also has a certain bittersweet cynical wisdom. I can see it alienating some but I found it to be a really fun watch and a perfect stoner movie.

Escapism at its best!!
suzzell9 August 2020
Hilarious, fast paced crime adventure. The heroes are 2 guys with Peter Pan syndrome. The baddies are 2 women mouth breathers. Grab some popcorn and cold beers...or...whatever...fall back on your sofa and let this experience wash over you. Its not deep. its escapism at its visual and audio best!

Poster misleading, film was fun

I really enjoyed this first attempt by southern locals. It wasn't perfect, but it was more entertaining than a majority of the big budget attempts I've seen it recent years. Pretty impressive for a first feature and I hope they keep plugging away.
