The program was at it's peak at this point, with the most amount of groups, and with the most amount of funding, and was completely free to join; that was if you were chosen.
The film was originally a 5 part series, which encompassed 4 videos and 1 feature film. But due to damaged footage the series was cut short, and only two videos were released. The film "Katimavik" is a combination of the the two completed videos.
Video five would have been a feature that sums up the series.
Katimavik is a Canadian program created in 1977 which is a gap program after high school, meant to help prepare youth for the tasks the world
has to offer. In 2004, eleven Canadians; with many others were once again chosen at random to be participants. Twelve people will live
together, eat together, play together, have fun together, and cry together.
