That was good
Strikeguy16 December 2019
For a cute-sy type movie, that would be outstanding for children. I'm 38 & I saw that film just me saying out loud to myself, 'This is a great children/family' but I first thought it would be a lame movie like 'Scrooged'. I was wrong, it was a watchable Christmas movie filmed in Canada, well done!

Not Good
Gubby-Allen3 December 2018
It was ok, the last ten minutes are very good and bring stories together well but unfortunately the young girl does not make the film the easiest watch, with a voice which distracts from the story.

Best Movie Of All Time
jdeggers-8183111 December 2017
This was the best movie I have ever seen. It is the Citizen Kane of Christmas movies.Without this movie, I would have no will to live. God himself acted in this work of art. I never thought a movie could be better than Spiderman 3, but I was clearly wrong. 100/10, would watch again and again and again.

Literally horrible
abigailw-786595 November 2022
This movie makes me want to spew vomit everywhere. It's literally horrible. This concept of talking animals enrages me. This is the worst thing my eyes have ever laid upon. I can't even explain the rage the actors fill me with, especially the little redhead girl. Her voice sounds exactly like taking a metal fork and rubbing it really hard in circles on a glass plate. Aint no one talks like her. No one is that annoying. I find it hard to believe how annoying her voice is. God himself had to mix together all things annoying into a pot to make this little girl. The parents piss me off too. Don't even get me started on the animals. I could cook them all.

Cute But Nothing Special
Christmas-Reviewer11 March 2017
BEWARE OF BOGUS REVIEWS. SOME REVIEWERS HAVE ONLY ONE REVIEW. WHEN ITS A POSITIVE REVIEW THAT TELLS ME THEY WERE INVOLVED WITH THE PRODUCTION. IF ITS A NEGATIVE REVIEW THEN THEY MIGHT HAVE A GRUDGE AGAINST THAT PRODUCTION. NOW I HAVE REVIEWED OVER 200 Christmas MOVIES. I HAVE NO AGENDA. I AM FARE ABOUT THESE FILMS.

A boy is shocked when his grouchy father gives a farmer a foreclosure notice just before Christmas. He wakes up one night to discover the farmyard animals in his room, who reveal they can talk and offer to help him play a trick that will teach his dad the importance of Christmas spirit

By the number Tv_movie which tries to put an animal spin on "A Christmas Carol" and the results are mixed. There is some funny moments but since we know how the story is going to end there is no suspense. I did love however the final scene when the dad wakes up on Christmas morning. (It was a direct camera & angle re-creation taken from the 1938 MGM version).

The film is family safe but mostly kids under 10 will like it the most.

Enjoyable and entertaining family holiday movie
vchimpanzee12 December 2021
Okay, it's not exactly outstanding. Most of the leading actors playing people don't really show that much talent. Christian Kerr is quite appealing as the boy who realizes he must save Christmas for the Woodsleys and their animals, and hopefully get his parents back together.

The movie sticks with the tried and true formula. Sometimes this is just plain silly. There are obstacles and villains, and sometimes it appears the problems will not be solved. But then things happen that would only be possible in the movies.

Several actors playing people stand out. Keith Cooper, who wrote the movie, does a great job as an overly optimistic and somewhat childlike elf-type who supports charities and then believes he is a ghost. Cooper is also one of the animals, but more about that in a minute.

Peggy Calvert makes the most of a brief role as Mrs. Woodsley, who loves animals.

And Michael Rubinstein has just enough nastiness about him in a very brief role as the previous year's play director who hopes Heather will fail.

I should also mention Daniel Solokhine as a bully who is much like Eddie Haskell, very polite to parents and a bully to other kids. But he has a change of heart which is quite entertaining.

Eva Greig is simply adorable as the very young sister. Not talented in the usual sense, but quite realistic. But stay around for the blooper reel at the end. She really shows her personality there, and that makes me wonder if she didn't have more potential.

The actors doing animal voices, on the other hand, are very talented for the most part. Joe Marth as Clark the Dog sounds like Wallace Shawn and has quite an attitude. He is friendly enough but he takes his job quite seriously and has high expectations of people.

Charles Shaughnessy is Judge the Goat and has an important role to play as well.

Bonnie Wright I don't know but she is Connie the Bunny.

And Jon Heder. Is a rat with a real attitude. He's just nasty, but he also has an important role.

Is it family friendly? I see nothing wrong here, and don't know why a TV-PG V-chip rating was given. The entire family can watch this. I doubt most adults would want to.

It's not a great classic, but it should be on your list and you want a warm and fuzzy comic holiday adventure.
