As a kid, Prasannakumar (Aditya Ganoo) doesn't like to go to school and spends his time stealing utensils and selling them to enjoy sweet dishes. After getting caught and beaten up by him grandmother, he vows to change himself and become someone who people from his village will talk about.

In doing so he works at various places and learns many things from each of those. He gets knowledge about law when he works as a bailiff in a court and learns manners and cleanliness as he takes care of a nurse's kids. After studying political science, Prasanna ( Siddharth Chandekar) works as a police inspector in the CID before studying law and becoming a lawyer. In the process, he meets Bharat Parab (Anand Ingle), an established politician, who becomes his political guru and from whom he learns the tricks of the trade. After gaining a foothold in politics, Prassana ( Sandeep Mehta) is offered many important roles in the government but his dream of becoming the chief minister of Maharashtra remains unfulfilled. The elderly Prasanna ( Vikram Gokhale) continues working effortlessly and is made the chief minister and then the home minister.

The film starts with Prasanna giving an order to hang a terrorist named Nawab who is responsible for terror attacks in Mumbai. It then goes back and forth in time with the elderly Prasanna finding things from his childhood and reviving memories of the past from them. Although the names of the characters have been modified, you understand what and whom the story is based on, given their close proximity to the originals.

'Dusari Goshta' excels in every department, be it Chandrakant's direction, Vikram-Sandeep-Siddharth's acting, the cinematography or art direction. It takes you through the political journey of many prominent politicians and events that change the course of India's political history.
