parody

except the fun, not only in the most inspired forms, nothing could impress in this film. a crazy comedy, remembering other iconoclast parodies, mix of different forms of humor, many too brutal, it is only a modest film, proposing, maybe, a provocative version of the evolution of Robin Hood. the good part - maybe the crumbs of French humor. but this is only a detail with small contribution. trip inside the great themes, using influences from the films with romantic heroes, it is a childish joke in which, in many scenes, the lost of measure, the unseemly humor and the sexual references are basic pillars. vulgar, maybe, provocative, but not surprising. the story of Robin Hood was , and remains, a generous source for parodies. and this film is an example.

Casual homophobia, sexism and antisemitism.

We tried to watch this pathetic movie that, really, should never had been made. The casual homophobia is CONSTANT and we stopped after the main character called a child "little f*g" Shame on the people involved in this project!

Great Fun

I found this movie great fun and well worth watching even though my French language skills are a bit rusty it still was a great parody of the Robin hood tale and very funny. I liked the Sherwood New Town sign towards the end although I'm afraid that there is no longer a sherwood forest per se and I think that "Robin des bois" is a part of mythology - well worth watching though and even if your first language is English it doesn't really matter as it's just a great visual fun romp along the same sort of lines as the old "Carry On" movies. I thought that Gerard Darmon played a particularly "Wicked" sheriff of Nottingham and Max Boubil was a pretty good Robin although I think that he could have been a bit crazier in places just to add to the farce
