There have been a quite a few TV documentaries on cats in the last few years but they have been conspicuously disappointing - over-long for the material, disappointing visually and educationally and rather charmless.

This however is an extraordinary documentary which simultaneously excels in all departments. It is as beautifully shot and produced as the best commercial, full of new and surprising information, perfectly illustrated, and as charming and affecting as the best classic Hollywood blockbuster. It manages to balance information on the species, on breeds as well as individual personalities. It is so complete, sets the bar so high that it is surely the last word. A marvel.

This is a fun and informative show - all about cats

I'm lucky to have recorded this on TIVO and I still have it, because it's nearly impossible to find now. It's beautifully filmed and it covers cat behavior from many angles. It's well narrated and easy to watch either sitting down in fill or to play in the background. I was a caretaker for my Mom for years and we watched this together several times.

As to the reviewer who said cats kill animals, yes, they probably could have mentioned that, but it's a 1 hour show or 44 minutes with commercial breaks, not sure. It could have been longer. There's a similar show on cats that's 4 episodes, not one. This is just one stand alone episode.

Missing truth

We all saw the good about cats in this but what about the bad, people need to no that on average 1 house cat kills 3 to 5 native animals a week ,note I only said native and I live in Australia where we have sparrows ,starlings ,and many other non introduced species and they are on there list as well.Your cat isn't just a fluffy loving animal ,it's a remorseless killer ,what other animal will injure its prey so it can push it ,toss it in the air while still alive and in pain ,don't just kid yourself that this only happens to mice when your cat captures it.Just today I saw my neighbor's cat with a lizard in its mouth and this cat has a bell on its neck so as to scare away an animals if they heard the bell ring ,this does not work ,keep your cat inside or in a caged cat run and do the native species a favor ,because our natives are slowly losing this battle .Missing truth
