Bring Back Backstrom!

Backstrom is my favorite new show in several years. I am writing this because I just read some "by the numbers" Internet twaddle saying that it was about to be canceled.

The acting, the characters, the casting, the production, the writing: all 5 stars. The Twaddle criticized the show because the lead actor couldn't deliver even the most dramatic of lines without making you want to giggle.

I agree! It is a comedy-drama. The drama is there, but it is overshadowed by the comedy.

I am a small minded critic, trying not to giggle...

Please Don't Go Down the Familiar Road

Thanks for flushing originality down the Eco-toilet. Two more boot-licking episodes and I am backing out of Backstrom. I really was enjoying this program too. All shows prior to this were very good crime dramas, awesome potboilers. What happened? The past shows were way far from the Swedish 'Backstrom', but they are entertaining and clever. I am over with the in-your-face, over-the-top subliminal(?) messaging.

Please stop the pandering and preaching, please. All shows seem to go through these steps when stories dry-up. Ever think of reading the original books just to get the slightest idea about the main character? He is not supposed to be a mean clown - he is more of an emotionless savant. Anyways, I hope the writers lay off singing the same old tiring agenda driven choir, and write something enjoyable. Still a good cast and has potential, but I feel a politically correct storyline will end a good show, prematurely. If this is the direction desired, so be it. I just cannot follow down that road - I have been there too many times in the past.
