- Harry becomes more involved with Nancy, inviting her to family dinner and having to sell some of his shares to raise funding for their housing project; a move which also diminishes his majority shareholding. Nancy, meanwhile, has other plans for Harry's money. Serge leaves for Paris to secure funds for his aviation dreams, taking Rosalie. Victor, under continuing extortion, joins forces with another businessman with a gambling interest in his nightclub. Kitty's attackers are out on bail thanks to Loxley and after an ineffectual attempt from Frank to tackle him, Kitty takes things into her own hands. Miss Mardle tries to help Doris Grove come to terms with her sweetheart who is also father of one of Mr Groves's children, resulting in tragic consequences.—Mipanko
- Following the raid on Victor's club Harry warns him to stay away from Violette and grounds her. Rosalie's marriage also seems to be going awry, causing Princess Marie to speak to Serge. Harry asks Nancy Webb to take Violette on board as a fund raiser, unaware of her duplicity whilst Victor is offered an uneasy partnership by gambling boss Michael Regan. Grove is resentful at being over-ruled as deputy but Gordon's introduction of Pierre Longchamp as head of display provokes a mixed reaction. Frank is appalled to learn that Loxley has stood bail for his wife's attackers but it is George Towler who ensures that justice is done whilst a tragedy befalls the Groves.—don @ minifie-1
- Gordon's first morning as deputy manager is an eventful one as several department heads report missing items. He tracks them down to the new head of design who's taken the items for a new window display - one that charms everyone. Harry is upset with Violetta after her arrest at Victor's bar. He's relieved when informed that they will not be pressing charges but upset to learn that she was found in a compromising position. He suggests she work with him on the housing estate and Violetta begins to organize a fund-raiser to buy furniture for the new homes. Harry continues to woo Nancy Webb not quite realizing what she is really up to. As for Victor, he hopes to reopen his club but DI Purkiss wants triple what he was receiving before. Mr. Groves's wife Doris continues to fret about Billy, her childhood sweetheart - and the father of her baby - who frequently follows her. Miss Mardle suggests she allow Billy to see the baby and she does, but it all ends in tragedy.—garykmcd
