Awesome British comedy as only the British can do
john11618 August 2016
Tom Rosenthal is brilliant in this, just as he is in 'Friday Night Dinner'. The concept of the show is clever, and contains spoofs of many television shows, including The Only Way is Essex. Tom's multiple characterizations are well done.

For a first series, it was extremely well done. Hopefully there will be a second series where we will see more of the same characters, and develop it further. Americans may not understand the humour, but we Aussies certainly do!

All in all, a very watchable, entertaining, funny show. So far, anything Tom does is amazing!

A golden nugget of 30-minute comedy

Strong writing that kept me in hysterics the whole episode. Really innovative concept that means it stays engaging the whole series. Sitcom format meshed with interesting reflections on the impact of online and media culture, and its affect on the way people perceive their own experiences and interactions, as well as the constant buzzing and computing of the mind. Perfect casting, and acting, including great cameo-style parts from actors who starred in Phoneshop and Bad Education. A golden nugget of 30-minute comedy. One of the best BBC comedy shows for a while, in my opinion. Come for Rosenthal, stay for the facial expressions and gags.

Innovative Sitcom
rjmurphyman5 August 2016
Series 1 of Flat TV was fantastic. Well-written, well-acted, well-executed. Conceptually, the idea of the sitcom is innovative. Though based around a classic sitcom situation (2 flatmates, the girl next door to impress, etc.), a fourth-wall-breaking TV self-parody unlike that seen before pushes it to another level. The spoofs and impressions were very decent, and there is so much more potential to be explored with the Flat TV format, with a wealth of TV or film genres that have yet to be touched. A greater level of character development/relationship building is needed to push it to a 10 in my books, but for a first series of a sitcom, it had a good range of characters, a high gag density and something unique it is bringing to the table.

Original and funny

Sorry for my mistake. Well, Flat TV needs to continue for the next years just because is one of the best comedies BBC has made. The two main characters go perfectly with the times we're living. I come from Argentina and (haha) believe me, not all the TV plots are so actual and a little bit of TV shows can be considered as good products... That's why I really like well done comedies and this is outstanding. Much more this simple TV fan could ask!

I have to say that, specially for me, Tom Rosenthal is one of the best comedians of our times. This mini series is the confirmation of all my expectations about him. Excellent work in o many levels. I hope it has more seasons.

The cast is excellent too.We can see the geniality in every movement and it s hard to get. The young comedians have high marks to reach through right now

Excellent and Britished
plebsfndflattv4 September 2017
Flat TV is my favorite series of this last five years, I miss it so much and hope to be back this year.

The British way to make television is well adored by millions all over the world and everybody knows it. I'm "BRITISHED" so many years ago and use to follow all series and movies and simply adore them. The Britished way to create characters and situations can be faked but never wins.

There's a special way to be about the British people and a special way to make comedy just to last forever. A seal, a British sealed way to perform and every country in the wHole world has it, maybe, but, the excellence goes to them. British COMEDY IS THE BEST

Another ten stars series

English Comedies are my favourites, but it´s not enough. It has to be creative, hilarious, well performed, fashionist, well written and something more to catch my attention. Flat Tv can do it. Flat Tv has it all and something more

Flat Mates and Flat People

Excellent in many ways. From too many Tv shows I´ve seen in my life, can give TEN STARS to this series thinking of the brilliant main idea, really original, then, we have Tom and Naz, as the ussual comedy couples but they look different from the rest and I can´t explain it well, just, enjoyed it very much. Tom and Naz make a great comedy couple and everything around them fit perfectly. Call it charisma or call it talent but they are extremely smart to handle every episode and the results can´t be better

Another bbc excellent sitcom
wendybeatle-529038 February 2019
I can´t understand why one of the most important corporation channels of the world is so blind to see how great series has in its very hands. Flat Tv is an actual vission of the classic sitcoms we´ve seen for years. It brings new ideas, a brilliant way to make humor for its generation, but, everybody liked it, not just millenialls, my mother, my father, my brothers and me were fascinated with this series. Excuse me but I don´t understand why there´s no other seasons having the Tv shows bbc has right now, so many of them with a lot of less quality
