Something Very Odd Has Happened...
ItsNannerpuss15 July 2022
Odd Squad is a great series! The humor fluctuates between silly absurdities and wit in a way that works pretty well for both adult and child viewers. Plenty of kids shows are just painful to sit through as a parent, but I'm always down for some Odd Squad. I'd say I've probably gotten more laughs out of this show than some "grown up" sitcoms. The kids enjoy the general silliness of the stories and the action/adventure/hero themes. The episodes incorporate educational elements into the story lines too, in ways that aren't overly intrusive or distracting. Most of the cast act their roles really well for their ages, and they definitely have some entertaining chemistry.

Highly recommended for parents with younger school-age kids around.

Seasons 1 and 2 are pretty good. A lot of storyline was quite well done. Season 3 is pretty much a let down from the first episode and trailer. When I see the actors i don't feel like it's a regular TV story/show that's pretty natural, I feel like i'm in the studio seeing them acting in person and feel inclined to focus on the way they sound forced and not as if they were talking in a regular conversation. I see people complaining or confused about the 5-8 age range, however it says it's."Geared for children ages 5-8" meaning that it's targeted for that age range/group, it's a kids show on a kids program and is targeted for little kids, that doesn't mean you can't watch it or won't enjoy it. One comment that caught my attention was the one about suits and the one about changing the channel whenever it comes on. I feel as if wearing suits is quite normal since they are agents and that's what most gov. Agents end up wearing. I also have to say, just because you don't like a channel doesn't mean your child won't, you're probably just a troll and all given you didn't provide any explanation either but whatever.

Odd Squad is Okay
veronhurde14 March 2021
Odd Squad is okay. But, the villains are uncool and only have one attack move. The villains need to have 3 attack moves. The show opening sucks! There's no action in it. This show needs to teach Language Arts to kids.

I watch this with my little brother sometimes
agentk-773019 September 2018
And it's absolutely great. I'm 19 and this show makes me laugh like I'm watching an adult sitcom. It's bizarre, educational, and the fact the characters take themselves seriously and aren't 'Dora' style or 'Blue's Clues' style (No jokes, only cute weird animals and abruptly stopping the show every damn minute to ask the audience stuff) means they take the audience seriously.

Great TV
mtmason-543389 March 2016
Though the description says this is for ages 5-8, everyone in my household (adults and older kids) love this show. It is some of the funniest TV out there, with a real weird sense of humor coming rapid fire.

The characters are fantastic, the writing is strong, and they fit in the educational parts seamlessly with the overall oddness going on.

Maybe the biggest selling point is that getting my kids out of bed for school is a pain, but I found that all I need to do is turn on Odd Squad and they stumble out on their own soon after as they want to see the show.

Probably the best kids show
lexxtoronto2 April 2016
I don't know why it says for kids age 5 to 8 when I think older kids definitely enjoy it too.

Not only kids, but also adults find it hilarious like me for example.

And agent Oscar is the funniest.

I think he won an award for this role.

I don't watch/like most kids shows, but I always watch this one whenever I can.

The acting is great and as I said it's just hilarious.

And also Ms O is funny.

And all other actors are funny.

This show makes me laugh, and home schools my daughter
jwhicks727-520-5217036 March 2021
This show is HIGHLY underrated on imdb in my opinion, with 6.5 stars at the time I write this. My 5-year old is hooked on this show, and I couldn't be happier about it. My wife and I are educators, and the explanations of math concepts from place value to comparison to basic addition and subtraction are really top notch, and written into the plots in such a way to be extremely engaging.

The humor is the show's other major selling point. The jokes are often simple (which is good so kids can get them), but the acting from ALL the child actors on the show is just top notch. Either they all watch SNL, or the show just has great direction, or something, because their timing is uncannily good and I am often involuntarily laughing from the kitchen as my daughter watches.

Representation is great on the show too, with cast members from diverse ethnicities, lots of roles of agency and responsibility for kids (especially girls), and all the characters are equally the butt of a slew of friendly jokes, so even though many of the characters are admirably portrayed, no one feels like they are on a pedestal.

Fun but Bizarre
wheaton-732-1503732 August 2018
This is a fun show that kids are able to watch and pay attention to but it often doesn't make any sense and is just bizarre. I like the educational aspects of the show (they often have problems that require mathematical solutions and illustrate how to do them well).

Great kids show
clcl-3892925 February 2019
Good acting, decent educational value, quirky. the best thing though is that unlike many kids shows, Odd squad is actually funny. im a teenager whos brothers watch this show and even i enjoy this show and laugh. The jokes are clever and while entirely family appropriate, sometimes meant for adults too

Unfair treatment and training children the wrong way
mnesvade28 June 2021
Unfair gender roles during play. Shows little boys as being dumb and always living in the shadow of the all mighty masculine bossy girls. I'd like to see more leadership and masculine roles for the boys so we can train our future leaders to be confident and strong!

We love Agent Otto
lynellhart24 March 2015
Odd Squad is the best show I know. My favorite is definitely Agent Otto. He is so hilarious! And Ms. O., I love juice boxes too!

One of my favorite episodes is episode 16 when the agent's voice turns into a non stop sound.

We always laugh when Ms. O. says, "Yes I'm talking to you... with the pants (or the beautiful smile, or the glasses or no glasses).

And why does Otto love food so much?

Keep making more episodes please!

We love you Odd Squad!

Don't forget the juice box!

POTATO!

Great show for all ages.

"Geared for children ages 5-8"

You must be joking. This show is way better for everyone --- all ages --- than almost anything else on TV in the US.

Since "the minimum length for reviews is 5 lines of text" I am adding this.

ps Now that I have read all the reviews, I am happy to see that everyone loves the show and amused to see that the first three reviews agree that it is a great show for all ages.

If your kids struggle with maths, watch this.
gerret-lorenzen30 June 2018
Terrific show Great characters, good scripts (with cracking jokes) and it gets the maths lessons in without distracting from the entertainment. And it's not trying to get your kids to buy rubbish merchandise, so all good there.

Family show
CallYap21 April 2017
My son Patrick has been watching this from the beginning and loves it. He even continued after they switched the two main agents a few years ago. Wonder why that happened? He likes the episodes where there are math problems. I get to learn about names starting with the letter O. They also have video games associated with this TV show and that is a big hit too. I guess when Sesame Street bolted to HBO, PBS needed to fill the void and this is a good replacement.

Jack Fulton is a TERRIBLE actor.
tajchakrabarti27 January 2021
Tremendous show, but the actor Jack Fulton is AWFUL, in his role as Agent O'Malley. As a viewer, I felt unconvinced that he was an actual "Agent," and that he alone RUINED this series.

Mature Viewers Love Odd Squad
joancrouchley27 September 2018
My husband and I caught this while looking for PBS NewsHour. We love it. We love the dialogue, we love the kids, we love that both boys and girls wears suits and all are quite serious about their mission. And you learn math! Did I mention we love it? We lover it!

A fun and entertaining way to learn maths
tinant2 February 2017
As a teacher in training I find this show really exciting for learning. While it is educational it's actually really entertaining. It's humour is actually quite sophisticated and there are some laughs for adults too. The quirky characters are very well developed and the writing quite clever.I think the children will really connect with the characters and be absorbed by the story. The crazy situations are great for children. Plus the clever humor is great for parents and older siblings. So while it is a maths show it is quite entertaining. From an educational point of view I can see its potential as an introduction to mathematical concepts to children and I can see how lessons can be drawn from the episodes. I may even consider using some episodes myself! So I give it a big thumbs up from both a viewer's and an educational perspective.

Fun entertainment with Maths undertones
jius19 August 2016
Good family fun entertainment with a little maths undertones running as the on going theme. The Concept of the show is like a more mature version of The Numberjacks TV show, where numbers go missing or numbers with a relationship. So anyone familiar with that TV series will find this very familiar territory in terms of concepts and math problems, just made with a higher budget and slightly older audience in mind. If The Numberjacks and SpyKids had a baby, this would be the resulting show. Whilst it's no super groundbreaking in originality it is still a great show for keeping kids interested and gets them to think about maths and numbers and just how much we rely on them every day, which this show fulfils this aim marvellously.

Best children series out there - undoubtedly
fap-2505013 September 2023
I really enjoyed watching this as a kid. From the funny stories and scenes that it came up with, the charismatic (or not that charismatic) characters, the recurrent plots and villains that were getting explained as each episode went by and the math part itself, Odd Squad has proved to be timeless as the protagonists could be changed without a dramatic and illogical end to their stories. The tech gadgets and tube system always made me fascinated at the time, as well as the adventures they went through. Although it could be labelled as quite repetitive, I reckon it is not a determining factor to whether the series is good or not. The main reason why there are low ratings is because youth and adults are rating - and they are not the series' target audience! Watching it as a kid and as an older person is completely different, but also nostalgic.

Better than most streaming shows
ThunderKing624 May 2022
Odd Squad is a show that follows a secret, authority group of stern children as they save the day from other villainy children.

The acting and goofy stories and breath mints keep me well engaged.

Its a good show.
