- Claire Randall: [after hearing the news that the midwife is not available for Jenny's delivery] It's alright. It is possible to deliver a breach baby. I may have to reach inside and guide it out.
- Jenny Fraser: [Absorbs the news with worry and fear. Then summons courage] Alright. But, you'll be fetching me a good stiff dram before we start.
- Claire Randall: In that case, the baby will likely be drunk, too.
- Jenny Fraser: Then he'll come into the world a true Scot.
- Ian Murray: [Shaken after having just killed Horrocks to save Jamie] I thought I killed my last man in the war.
- Jamie Fraser: I'm grateful. For if you hadn't done it, I'd have done it myself.
- Ian Murray: The man was an absconder, a traitor and a thief! He wasn't worthy of the The Watch. Nor even a redcoat.
- Jamie Fraser: Let's bury the bastard. Which is more than he deserves.
- [Ian tries to return his bloodied sword to its scabbard. But, his hands are shaking so badly that he can't. Jamie sees what he's doing]
- Jamie Fraser: Wipe the blood off first. Ian!
- [Jamie realizes the trouble Ian is having and tries to calm and reassure his friend who is like a brother]
- Jamie Fraser: Remember we used to argue which was the bigger sin. Fornication or killing.
- [He reaches for Ian's sword who hands it to him]
- Jamie Fraser: We worried whether we would go to hell.
- Ian Murray: [sighs deeply and smiles at his friend] Well, if you're going to hell... I might as well go, too. God knows you'll never manage alone.
- Claire Randall: [placing her hand on Jamie's chest] Listen your sister. Hasten ye back ~~~~~ or else
- Jamie Fraser: Or else what?
- Claire Randall: Or else I'll follow you ~~ and drag you back by your long red curls. And you won't like it one bit.
- Jamie Fraser: [smiling wryly] No, I'm sure I wouldna like it
- Jenny Fraser: [placing her hand on Claire's arm and Claire turns to face her] Now see here, Claire Fraser, every day for four years I looked down that road. He'll come back. He always does.
