- This film revolves around a young woman who takes a job as a nanny in a remote village to supervise a child that is actually a life-sized porcelain doll. The parents treat the doll like a real boy to cope with the death of their son and they give her a list of rules that she has to follow strictly. This may prove mildly distressing to viewers.
- When the protagonist ignores the rules, disturbing things begin to happen and she becomes convinced that the doll may be alive.
- A few jump scares throughout, though several are predictable: a pause and then a loud noise with a shocking image (i.e. flickering words, a ghost hand, a silhouette in the attic, a doll quickly moving its head, etc.)
- The effects of physical abuse and loss of children are major themes in the film. These may be triggers for some people.
