Once they get to the Goldman home, Becca attempts to shock her cousin Faith with some bad behavior. Faith moves in anyway, wanting to be close to her newly discovered father, even if it means living under the same roof as Becca. Becca, however, uses every opportunity she can to let Faith know that she's in the way and not a top priority in her Uncle Joel's life. After working nearly 24/7 for two months, Faith finally has a day off. It's Sunday and Joel has planned an afternoon picnic in the park for friends and family. Before the afternoon festivities, Faith stops by a local church for a moment of solace - her first time since leaving the Bible Belt. Once at the park, Faith, Joel, Becca and friends cut loose with food and games. But the good times come to an abrupt end as an uninvited guest shows up, putting Faith's future plans in jeopardy.

Following the picnic debacle, Faith is holed up in a hotel room seeking solace and maybe a drink. Feeling betrayed by Yvette, she's unsure whether she wants to return to work. Meanwhile, Joel is paid a visit at the bookstore by the mysterious Avram Ben-Meier, who delivers an envelope and maybe a threat. Later that day, a shaken Joel visits his daughter Faith at her hotel, where he shares stories about Grace, Faith's deceased mother. But as the wine flows, Faith presses her father about what really goes on at the bookstore. Joel does his best to evade the issue, but in the end, he may have to tell Faith exactly what's going on - if only to save her.
