I agree with low scores and high scores. Both are correct . But still uplifting and encouraging. Enjoyed watching.

Not your typical Christian film...
bweston-230 October 2019
"Full Count" is the first film by Robert Eagar and is a great first effort. While the branding shows a lot of baseball, this is not a film about baseball, but about human relisiance and finding contentment no matter what the circumstances. Acting for all parts is above average for an independent production, and the message, while strong, is not forced. The scenic shots are stunningly beautiful. Despite having very little sleep and seeing it at the end of a long day, the movie held my attention and kept my mind working. There are some rather surprising plot twists and dramatic turns. While all of the cast is quite good, I found Adam Boyer and John Paul Kakos to have really carried the movie well.

Look, it's a low budget film -- you'll find more polish in a major network television drama, but the story is good, and the characters authentic and compelling. I look forward to Eagar's next film.

Could be better but a sweet movie
GiegerCounter7 August 2021
Not great but definitely a sweet family movie. It ranks similar to other Christian movies, acting and storyline could be better but I'm glad I watched it.

Warning: Spoilers
There are too few movies being made today which hold family, faith, and kindness as their cornerstone. Full Count uses these foundational elements to tell a welcome story of perseverance through life's imperfections. Happy endings are possible but often not without struggle and always more likely with faith. It would be great to see more movies like this!

Campy fun with more plot holes than a water sprinkler
quietriotr8 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Spoiler alert. The movie centers around Milton an 18-19 year old goody two shoes who just wants to go to college, play baseball and pray to the Lord. He's not involved with meth, opoids, alcohol, sex, tattoos, extreme pranks or any teen rebellious behavior. You would think his parents would be happy about this, but you would be wrong. They actually want him to drop out of school, quit his likely professional baseball career and work on their farm. They probably want him to drink and use crystal meth too but that wasn't said. This working on the farm idea is especially looney because they are in the midst of a multi year drought and nothing is growing. The corn is all dried up. What would he be doing on the farm with nothing to plant and nothing to harvest?

And the mother, despite how desperate they are for money, it never occurs to her to get a job or do something useful herself. She spends all of her time alone in the house, doing what? god only knows but at least she always has her hair done, make up on, and clean new freshly pressed clothes.

The dad dies, and so Milton. the rebel, now has to drop out of college and help on the farm because obviously his shiftless mother isn't about to sell it and actually get a job herself. On the way home from his dad's funeral Milton gets in a car accident and apparently kills a pedestrian. This is the day after Milton has planted a crop of corn amidst the drought, just on faith. But he has prayed so we hope for good things. He is in jail for two days obviously praying and being good, and when he gets out he comes back to the farm with his mother and finds the corn fields have grown thousands of acres of 10 foot high corn. You may say this film is predictable but all that corn after 2 days in jail this is was one of the biggest shocks any film could spring. The message is obvious. If you be good and pray god will provide you with immediate rewards, tall corn and get you out of jail. It is never covered why God caused the drought and other injustices in the first place. Coming home from 2 days in jail, even though the corn is still in the field and unharvested, all of a sudden Milton and his mother suddenly have a lot of money... where it came from no one knows but I suspect his mother of some type of shifty business considering her eagerness to exploit her son and her aversion to doing any type of work.

Milton uses their new found money to take his mother on the balloon ride she always wanted rather than paying back all the people they owe money to and we all learn a lesson from this: the circumstances in your life will not make you happy. Your happiness will make the circumstances irrelevant. [Except the failing farm, being accused of manslaughter, and anger at his dad were all things to be upset over. (And your prayers will effect immediate results of wealth, getting out of jail and most anything else your heart desires). The End.

I just wish we could all go live in this bizarro american world of Watkins, Georgia where there is no litter, no unpainted buildings, everyone wears clean pressed clothes and everyone is willing to help each other with loans, car repairs, prayers and encouragement when someone's down. This is the kind of movie that causes atheists to think those who have faith are insane, with its idea that God is a magician in the sky who needs supplication and if he gets it will give you money, good circumstances, get you out of jail, and cure your previously permanently deformed wrist.

Could have been inspirational
sgierling8 March 2020
Thematically, it's a warm, inspirational story. However, the poorly written script and mediocre acting drag the story down. Fellow Christians, please stop raving about everything that is created by another Christian or that has Christian themes.

Embarrassing
dillonaforte3 March 2020
As a fellow Christian, I can't stand seeing movies like this come out. In real life, we can't rely on angels to come out if the sky and fix our problems. We deserve better representation than a poor plot with uncomfortable conflicts and a literal angel to come out if nowhere and break the whole story. Bad things happen, and it does poor when it rains, which is why people, especially faithful people, need a story that represents the reality of Christian faith. Out of love, I cannot give this movie a good review. I can only say we deserve better. If you want to give us hope, don't give us an angel. Give us hope.

This is a terrible movie full of bad performances and a very predictable storyline. I watched a bit but just couldn't stomach it. Do yourself a favour and just walk away!

Inspires to Not Loose Hope when you need it the Most.
gabrielevd-332898 March 2020
I find this movie very positive. I'm shocked with so many negative reviews about this movie. Come on guys! Praise the Lord for there are people now with the power to make positive movies without any sexual content or bad language. I was surprised to see this movie on netflix, I'm used to see movies like this on PureFlix where all the movies are healthy and actually my family and I can enjoy them. This movie will show you to trust in God in your darkest moments, and we all have been at some point in life on a very bad position, helpless, hopeless, with no one around that can help us. But in the mist of the problems we seemed to be blind about the power of God and that our trust in God can be the only hope. This movie teaches you to praise God even harder when problems hit the worst, and this is the life a true believer should live. Great Movie!!

Ouch
kobemoss-671883 March 2020
I understand the concept of making a family movie that has good message but this is borderline torture.

It's the Green Mile meets this flick without the happy ending. If you need to waste a couple hours of your life because of self hatred or you need a good punishment for your kids this movie has it all.

You will absolutely be praying by the end of this movie but it will be to make it stop. These movies are the reason the church can not reach the younger audience.

Calling this a baseball movie is extremely misleading.
nogu-0634612 May 2020
Baseball is only a subplot taking up around 20% of the film. This is more of a farming story than anything else.

The plot jumps around from one thing to another and sometimes in the story I was thinking myself when did that happen in the plot. Two main character die in this movie. There's an addiction subplot. The story writers play with you. There's a villain.

Oh, yeah I forgot to mention there's an angel on this movie.

Here's the moral to the story sit on your hands and hope for dumb luck.

rmbr-0543429 October 2019
A refreshing family film about faith, hope and perseverance. I left the theater feeling uplifted and I needed that! John Paul Kakos is going to do some great things in movie land, and it's going to be a pleasure to see a fine young man get rewarded for his hard work!

Austin Frye really out did himself with this one! Probably the best character in the film. The film is worth watching just to see Austin Frye. I hope you enjoy this film.

You're under arrest.
nogodnomasters7 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This is an overly predictable "come to Jesus" film. When life deals Milton Young (John Paul Kakos) lemons, God sends a man to graffiti the jail with Josh 1:9 and the barn with John 10:10. Poorly written and executed. Very hokey.

For the love of god DO NOT waste your time watching this god awful movie! Every time you think it's about to get better it just gets worse! Dumbest movie of the century!

Awful bible thumping nonsense pretending to be a baseball movie
mcouloigner17 December 2020
This movie pretends to be a baseball movie and then spends the rest of the 1hr 40 minutes trying to shove Jesus down your throat like a terrible Sunday sermon your grand parents tricked you into. The only people who like this movie seem to be blinded by their faith (shocking).

THIS WAS SO SAPPY, I ALMOST WENT INTO A DIABETIC COMA
bohicaranch16 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I like happy movies. I like movies that leave me feeling good when they're over. I don't care for violence and I won't watch a horror movie. Having said that, this was NOT one of those movies that left me feeling good. It has decent photography and production values and these will keep you watching long past when you should have stopped.

It is a complete ripoff of the Green Mile (A GREAT MOVIE) with the Angel grabbing peoples arms and blowing salvation upon them, allowing them to see the past as if in a movie, whereupon the truth is revealed. And light bulbs blow up, electrical systems malfunction and cameras stop working. Sound familiar?

Just by touching people on the shoulder, this Angel can comfort the souls of the those in need, and make prison guards leave their posts. The movie was dominated by somber piano music and sappy writing and acting. It was just too much, for too long. If you like this movie, you've been drinking way too much of the Kool Aid at your church for waaaaay too long.

It's a story of an american teenager who would never think about drinking, cussing, kissing his girlfriend, much less having sex, has no tattoos, never argues with his mother and tolerates his abusive father with understanding and grace. In short, a complete, unadulterated fantasy.

The moral of this story is that EVERYTHING bad that happens to you can be fixed with prayer and a visit from your own personal angel. (Who looks like the leader of a prison Aryan Nation gang) The drought will end, the police who framed you will be discovered and arrested, all charges will be dropped, people will give you credit when you're behind on your bills, you will have a bumper crop on your farm, money will come flying in to pay all your bills, you will get a ride in a hot air balloon, so you can fly closer to heaven to feel your dead father. Oh, and your permanently injured arm will suddenly and miraculously heal, and you might get to pitch in the Major League.

And they all lived happily after. Amen. Hallelujah. Praise God. The only thing missing was the Angel rising into the sky in a golden light, Heaven bound.

I'm going to be sick.

I wanted to die while watching this
oakalbfleisch2 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is kinda horrible, story could've been good till the army dude started blowing the main guy in the visitor center. Could barely watch because of how horrible the acting. At points I stoped watching the movie and was just listening and could tell that the acting was bad. It was extremely painful to even listen to. 2 out of 10 for the big fish caught at the beginning.

Stick with me here
kruzin-383147 March 2020
Just about half way through the movie when "the accident" happens, am I the only one that felt like a good 45 minutes plot just went missing? Why was he in handcuffs in a coma? Who's the woman that he killed or seriously injured with his "heinous crime" as per the deputies statement? What in the actual crap happened? I honestly got so caught up in the timeline of this plot I couldn't watch any further past the scene he wakes up in the hospital!! What an awful screenplay!
