City of Lost Souls is a tough and realistic example of the inner workings of city life and people, as well as the redemption and decline of those who have seen the error of their ways. Director Jason Baustin takes us on a journey through life in the City of Baltimore, from questionable club owners and those they employ to the righteous prosecutors to the pawns that are tangled up in both ends of this gritty drama. Altorro Prince Black, Johnny Christos, Bobby J. Brown, Patricia Mizen, Richard Cutting and Johnny Alonso gave stellar performances as well as the rest of the supporting cast and crew to show the desperation to have it all. The music is timely and well suited as the additional cast member to accompany all the time and effort put into this short film. I enjoyed seeing the well done special makeup and special effects in it's finished state and added to the reality of each scene. The acting was fresh and gripping and the intensity displayed by all was certainly well appreciated in the final form. I could give it a better star rating if it flowed a bit better, it did seem a bit choppy but the great acting and direction seemed to help minimize this.
