A new alien creature is here...raw and primitive...

This is a great suspenseful horror action film creating a brilliant setting, a group of mercenaries are sent, to the jungle to find a group of soldiers doing training in enemy land, they soon get there and there´s no one in sight, first they encounter a group of enemy´s in a camp, but then there´s something else, they suspect that something not human is hunting them, the new creature is coming to our world in search of an ancient relic, but the group is in his away and they fire at him, so one by one, he starts killing them off, and it´s real savage, he uses a technology that allows him, to teleport himself, and has shields, this is a new kind of enemy, and a great tribute to the predator franchise. The creature design is great, has for his weapons too. It's a very fun creature feature that understands the basics of how to use its creature effectively.

Fun acting, good soundtrack, great monster and an influential idea make it a must watch, 8/10 for me.

Loved every minute into this, the story is not overly ambitious, they play it straight and the focus is given more to building tension, which it manages to do very well. The creature is really well done and they managed to put the alien hidden, until the last minute when finally he makes its appearance and it´s really great. It surprised me, it really did, i tought it would be something bad, but no... it´s that great, with very special weapons, the characters are interesting and all of them are well portrayed. Some are a little cliché, but the main character played by Pinecross is more human than a full action hero. It is above average for an action flick and screamed quality, despite a retentively low budget, and I definitely wouldn't mind to see it again.

A portuguese sci fi classic with a unstoppable creature

A group of mercenaries head into the jungle on a rescue mission but find themselves being picked off one by one by a cloaked alien creature. Oodles of blood, sweat, bullets and testosterone, is what you get in this non stop action sci fi spectacle fest. The visual effects are good, and for a portuguese movie, is something i never saw before this breaks all barriers in our country, because it´s good to know that they want to make movies like this, and succeed on many levels, the actors do a good job, the sountrack is great. And the creature itself has very similarities with the Predator, loved the mask, and how the trailers, hide him so well, never showing who he really is. hope there´s a sequel coming. Will watch again soon. Good, nasty fun is guaranteed.

A real blockbuster of sci fi horror

The acting is well done & believable. There's something in the trees that is going to track down these mercenaries. A new alien creature, when i saw it for the first time i was pleased, this creature is even more powerfull than the predator, he has special stars, that he trows at his enemy´s it´s like a magnet, the stars track down and always kills them, then he got his lasers from his eyes, he has his super cannon, that transforms every enemy in ashes, mines. Besides all this, he even got a shield protecting him, and a system of teleportation. For me this is one of the best sci fi action horror movies of independent cinema.

This is what action movies should be all about. Great balance of characters mixed with just the right amount of blood.

This will become a cult classic in the years to come... loved the alien creature

The movie begins with a team of expert mercenaries dispatched on a rescue mission. These guys are professionals and you do not want to mess with them. They get right to business to get the job done. But when an alien creature from another planet appears on the horizon using some sort of camouflage shield, and a set of special weapons, these mercenaries are in for the last ride of their lifes, soon the creature starts killing them, and all hell breaks loose.

It´s an incredible movie, for the budget it has, and there´s room for a sequel in the post-credits scene, so i´m expecting he will be back, so keep em coming, i want more like this, a new alien creature has arrived and it´s called (The Enemy) hope they clear out what is name is...i don´t want to call him enemy, they gotta come up with a better name. But all in all it´s an 8 for me.

I didn't know what to expect from this movie, it seemed like an action in the jungle, guns and blaze...but was i wrong... As far as the story goes, it follows in the line of traditional survival horror tactics of having a large number of expendable characters and the big bad monster. A mildly amusing story is there for those who wish to indulge in some twists and turns, but it does the job of moving things along. Performances for the most part are well done, especially from Pinecross who seems to have put in a lot of work in his character, also didn´t know the director was the creature, until i saw his name in the credits, good for him, it turned out great. The background score works well to create tension. The violence and gore are believable very well done, great practical effects. This movie is proof that even with a low budget you can make incredible things.

8/10 .

A step in the right direction.

Finally it has arrived, i´ve been waiting for this movie for 2 years, and the wait is over, but It did not disappoint. It was entertaining and fun to watch from start to finish, the characters are pretty thin and not much story develops outside of just staying alive. There's more to an action movie than the action. There's suspense and build-up. This movie had those. Just sit back, enjoy the popcorn and absorb it all. This movie is just begging for a sequel.

It´s just the most awesome low budget movie ever ! I´ve worked on this movie, and let me tell you, director Rui Constantino is a visionary, this man has great ideas to take a movie from the beggining to end with great intensity and wisdom. It´s a real team effort, and i´m very proud to have worked in a movie like this. There's a tremendous atmosphere as the mercenaries enter the jungle, it's like another world and straight away the audience is thrown out of its seat, when the first attack begins. The score needs mentioning, because it´s a great tribute to the original Predator. This movie is full of easter eggs of tribute to the Predator franchise, so look out for them. The alien creature is so cool and awesome, full of pratical effects, weapons and all. This is by far my favorite movie i´ve worked on.

So for me it is a definite 10 out of 10.

A tight action film with a solid cast

A true pleasant surprise of a film, straight to the point and action packed The cast and performances are great as are the majority of the action sequences. Should have been about half an hour longer to flesh out the characters and maybe have a few more plot twists but as a straightforward, entertaining and visually appealing sci-fi actioner it works.

Moving Sci-Fi film with plenty of action, chills, thrills and resulting to be pretty entertaining. This nail-biting picture contains action-packed from start to finish , gory scenes aplenty, thrills, emotion and entertainment.

The tone of this film is very similar to the predator with its jungle theme, but the creature is very different, way more powerfull. The story is quite simple and enjoyable and most of the characters are true Badass. Action is pretty well done and filming locations are similar to the original Predator.

OVERALL: I recommend this movie. I think it's got decent action and a likable cast even if they aren't expanded on too much.

The explorer from another world has arrived and he is here to stay...

I am a huge fan of movies like this, so i was excited to see what they did with this tribute, so the movie starts very well with the team of mercenaries set to go on a rescue mission, but then the creature starts killing them one by one, and that´s when the gore starts to appear, As for character development, it goes without saying that it's remarkably sparse but effective. The acting is well all around, considering that this is not a very dramatically demanding story for anybody. The script is precise, it doesn't force the cast to act stupid, or insults the intelligence of the audience; another reason why it works! The creature is amazing and would make Stan Winston proud to see that they did a real tribute to his original creature. Rui Constantino delivered an absolute gem with this one. The pacing is superb. A great film, one of a kind.

The acting was solid as a rock, every scene just stood out and the movie kept you interested throughout its entirety. There was a nice amount of gore but, it was not overdone and I enjoyed that a lot. It draws you in. You start putting yourself in their shoes thinking "what would I do in that situation? How could you possibly overcome such a formidable enemy?" This really made all the difference for me anyway.

It´s an incredibly refreshing movie 9/10 for me.

Better than the reboot of predator, the enemy is the perfect brother of the predator

It starts out as a generic action-war film in the jungle, but quickly turns into a sci-fi action slasher, with a goal for the alien creature, to find some missing object in an ancient temple, it´s glorious.

If you have not seen this film, I highly recommend you check it out.

A group of mercenaries parachute into the jungle and are hunted by an alien creature with teleportation powers and can disguise himself as a tree, a rock or a bush, he starts killing them off one by one, just as the predator does. We can see here the love that the director has for the predator franchise, this new enemy has a technology that surpasses the predator by far, unique weapons, shield, he is on top of his game here, he came to our planet to search for an ancient skull (mayan maybe) i don´t know... To deliver it, to his boss waiting on the ship in orbit (we only see this at the very end) that´s one of my favorite scenes in the entire movie.

A neat film that's fresh, solid action and effects, its a real good movie overall.

Finally after nearly 2 years in development, here he is, Enemy Unknown, I will give it 9/10 because it doesn't pretend to be more than it is, and that is a solid action/horror film with a good cast. Explosions and gun play were also intelligently used, which is nice considering the story of the movie. I really enjoyed the beggining of the movie adding more depth to where the alien creature comes from, before he gets to earth. The result is a very well-done movie featuring a stylish production.

I hope this movie finds enough success to spawn a sequel.

Classic sci fi action all the way.

The movie is a terrific mix of action, suspense and sci-fi. The acting is great and the special effects are top notch. The set pieces are amazing and the action kicks but. The story is great and the cinematography his epic! I Highly recommend it.

Easily one of the best low budget´s i´ve ever seen.

This movie has a simple story, the alien looks wicked and his weapons too.

The jungle is used in a good way to hide the alien, he teleports himself, has various camouflages, different from the predator.

The cinematography of the jungle is appropriately hot.

An intense flick from start to finish.

Innovative, and full of believable action.

Enemy Unknown is a fairly simple story; it's essentially a sci-fi version of the Predator, but with awesome updates. The direction by Constantine adds the final piece to the puzzle; the cinematography of the jungle is appropriately hot, steamy, and claustrophobic, and the quick pacing of the film moves rapid fire between all-out action and the tension, it's very suspenseful and fits in perfectly with the scenes. The title character of the film is very cool, with his own special weapons, and i won´t forget the smart gun at the very end, transforming everything to ashes. The death scenes are actually pretty tasteful, given the genre. They are just gory enough to illustrate the violence of the enemy without being gratuitous.

Rating: 8/10

A great jungle sci fi adventure.

A group of mercenaries are sent on a rescue mission to save a bunch of soldiers in the deep jungle somewhere, but soon they discover they are not alone, a new alien creature has come to earth to search for an ancient mayan skull, along the way he looses it and the leader of the team of mercenaries finds it, now they are all hunted by the creature who wants the skull back. The death scenes are gory enough to satisfy the most violent fan, it´s a great hommage to the predator franchise, there´s room for a sequel, so we will be seeing this enemy again. The film is really worth watching if you're in the mood for an auctioneer/horror flick. The scene of the trap was also very good, there´s really good elements here, that i hope they can explore more, and loved to see in the beginning where they show the creature´s homeworld. The film moves along to an exciting finale So for me it´s a 9.

Trully a low budget masterpiece of action movies, jungle explosions with guerrilla warfare. A must watch for sure, if you want a sci fi action film that thrills from start to end, see this !!!

This enemy is only an enemy for us humans because we see him as a threat, and then we shoot him, and that´s why he becomes our enemy.

I would love to see this guy battle the predator, that would be so great, both have invisibility cloaks, super weapons, full of technology, but the enemy can teleport himself and bring new weapons from his ship, the predator doesn´t do that.

I don´t know but i think the enemy would win.

But it would be a great combat.

For me the movie was super cool and i hope they can bring more sequels.

Another masterpiece of sci fi.

The movie begins on the aliens side, that was new, because we get to see all of it, in the beginning, so the alien comes to earth to look for an ancient mayan skull to take to his leader, but when his enemy (humans) shoot him, the bloodhunt begins.

The weapons of the creature are spectacular, the suit is also amazing, and there´s a certain mistery to it all, why do these aliens want ancient pieces from our world, it is never explained, but i prefer it remains a mistery.

A team of mercenaries tracks down this alien, and he kills them one by one (just like the predator) but with more sophisticated weapons (lasers from his eyes, shooting stars, teleport, the hability to transform itself into a tree or a rock, explosive shooting stars, and a laser cannon that tranforms humans into ashes) ohhhh and a super mine that explodes into a small nuclear device.

We never see his true face, beneath all the suit, but the look his incredible.

Nonstop action, lots of enemys, explosions, pure sci fi awesomeness.

An action glory of portuguese cinema and on bluray its even better 10 out 10,
