This movie gives Headaches
prudhvizzzz24 October 2016
Extremely boring film it gave me a headache I don't know how this is rated around 8 the movie lacks everything one boring and old school story. The plot doesn't contain any interesting twists or turns a total time waste. I recommend this film to an age group under 10 a family drama. I am only continuing my review because the minimum length for a review should have 10 lines of text. LOL have a nice day GTFO unexciting, boring, dull, tiresome, wearisome, tedious, dreary, tiring, flat, lifeless, monotonous, humdrum, uneventful, slow, unvaried, repetitious these are some synonyms for the above. an epic fail when it comes to story telling and casting.

Terrible movie, cannot be bothered to even finish it.
alessandroallora3 November 2016
Boring, bad acting, voices often covered by sounds, bad lighting, do not waste your time watching this. I could not resist for more than 45 mins, and I am used to watching loads of movies every week but could not help with this crap. Just really really bad. I do not have anything else to write besides but need to fill the lines somehow lol. I cannot understand how this movie got even released and how there can be some positive reviews. It is true that nowadays there is so much crap out there that people cannot even distinguish between a mediocre movie and a good one. So disappointed. The story itself could have had some appeal if only the acting was not so poor. Just a shame really. Giving it 3 stars is already very generous. If I could go back I would not waste 5 minutes of my life for this movie.

Better than Pandemic movies, sort of

Warning: Spoilers
The scenery was great. I can't say the same for either the acting or the script. I did manage to actually finish watching, although I was playing online video games while it was on...Too many bad choices and 'accidents' for it to be very believable. And yes, I believe the boy injured his right ankle and came home with a cast on the left, lol, no way I'm going to rewatch to be certain.

I did give it a 3 star, but that was more because of the scenery and the kids actually were mostly likeable.

The story delivered suspense, some laughs and heartfelt moments
shawnkatz14 January 2017
We are a camping family and wanted a movie that featured camping and ATV's. The story delivered suspense, some laughs and heartfelt moments that we talked about after the film was done. This little indie with non Hollywood cast was fun to watch. I think the actors playing the parents role did a great job of showing the frustration and challenge of trying to put together a new family and the dangers of pushing your kids too hard to connect to the new relationships. The Wilderness served as a great metaphor for how new relationships can be beautiful but also dangerous emotionally of not entered into with caution. Thumbs up for this one.

To award this a star would be generous
halucaceres6 November 2016
Where to start? 1. Horrible casting, worse than highschoolers 2. The plot is as predictable as it comes. Even worse. 3. The acting eliminates any kind of drama from the plot as they are incapable of showing any emotion whatsoever, regardless of the situation they claim to be in. 4. This is an example of two hours wasted of our time. My wife and I were making a comedy out of it as we could not find any other thing to do with this movie. 5. Somehow this movie had 8.5 stars. We are writing this to make the rating closer to the reality and avoid this traumatic experience to other watchers.

Do you know one of those movies that you will always remember, even after years, due to its poor quality, horrible cast and woeful plot? Jackpot here.

Do yourself a favour: pick a letter of the dictionary and start reading. That's much more entertaining!

Worst movie of my life
cipnrkorvo12 January 2017
This movie was such a waste of time, I thought I would write a review here just to warn you guys and avoid more people wasting their time like I wasted mine. I've never seen such bad and fake acting in a film. I thought even though the story seems boring and badly acted, maybe I'll learn a few tips about nature survival. All the "sruvival" skills used, and all the problems they run into, are as fake as the acting! Absolutely nothing learned at all! On top of all this, the film seems to basically tell you "nature is dangerous. you should just stay at home and eat bacon all day, then you'll be happy". It's the stupidest plot, with the stupidest morale, written in the poorest possible way, and with the worst possible acting. OK I wasted 5 extra minutes writing this review, hope at least it keeps you from wasting 1.5 hours of your life.

Blooper Alert
rittrz8 December 2018
Toward end of movie, older boy fell and broke his "RIGHT" foot preventing him from walking to base camp. He came home with a cast on his "LEFT" foot. Somebody screwed up...I cant believe whole production crew missed that one.

A complete waste of time
koderrimo22 January 2017
So far the worst movie I have seen in 2016 and 2017. The acting is poor, fake and it doesn't transmit any emotions. Going to an end-of-the year middle school play is definitely a better option. The movie, despite being set around an astonishing scenery has no capacity of transmitting the beauty of the surrounding. The lightening is poor despite the photography being decent. The sound management is also really bad, something the actors voices are really loud and some other times you can hardly hear them speak because of the surrounding noise. Overall, the screenplay is amateurish, boring and doesn't provide anything other than 2 hours of boring scenes with no pathos whatsoever. I really don't see how people could have rated this **** 9 or 10, this is just pure rubbish. Save yourself this waste of time and engage with something else.

I liked it
coganterry29 June 2022
I see why some folks wouldn't like this. No CG, explosions, or spaceships. But what I liked about it was, it was very family friendly. My grandsons loved it. It reminded me of what Disney movies used to be. Great after-school flick.

What a good movie, wow!

Warning: Spoilers
What a good movie, wow! Very entertaining and heartfelt. Whole family liked it! This is one of the most heartfelt movies I have seen in a while. Beautiful scenery, pretty exciting, Things start going bad when the kids start taking advice from an overconfident kid who is in pursuit of a hidden treasure left behind from his estranged father. This story shows you just how quickly plans can fall apart when your in the middle of the wilderness. Its surprising more people aren't lost in similar situations when you think of all the inexperienced campers heading out each year. The bear scene might not be appropriate for really young viewers under five. Love the ATV stuff. Awesome movie and message.

Family adventure in the wild with a blended family theme
studentdfs29 October 2016
There is no Hollywood a-listers in this indie film but for me and my kids it hit all the emotional marks, we laughed, we cried, the bear attack was scary. It's not a big budget film but the location where they shot it contained some breathtaking scenery. Families who have a camping background will appreciate and understand how quickly things can go wrong in the wild.

One bad decision after another put these kids in big trouble. The performances from the young cast was great. It wasn't as adult oriented or hardcore as 'Stand By Me' but the story had that vibe to it.

I'm a musician and appreciated the country flavored guitar based sound track, so I was pleased with that as so many indie films fail in that area.

We are a blended family and it actually allowed my kids to process some of the things they have been feeling in our new family. We recently watch Tomorrowland and my boys liked this better.

You will be pleasantly surprised.
danielchase-7231614 January 2017
You will be pleasantly surprised. Lost Wilderness has a lot of heart! It has riveting and very memorable characters that make it really unique. The scenery is breathtaking. It will remind you of "Stand By Me" only with a message of hope for young people and parents alike and isn't preachy but tackles some of the realities of divorce and blended families with thoughtfulness and compassion while still being fun! Anyone who enjoys the outdoors, has kids and has been through a marriage breakup and the aftermath that can come with that will not want to miss this little jewel of a film. If your looking to laugh, cry or just be entertained by a feel good coming of age tale, you can't go far wrong .
