Great family entertainment

Half term nearly over and just spent the morning watching this film with my two children aged 8 and 10. It was definitely time well spent. My children were hooked from the start. The film location was beautiful and timeless, reminiscent of the type of summer vacation many of us will have had as a child. There's nothing more exciting than spending time with a bunch of friends, running wild making your own fun. Even better when an alleged murder takes place and you can suddenly turn into the 'famous four' investigating, snooping and causing uproar! What we liked about the film was that the pace of the story was quick enough to keep our interest and yet slow enough to ensure we didn't lose the thread. The children playing the main characters were endearing and each had defined personalities which I'm sure every child could relate to. The adult actors were often funny with plenty of slapstick moments which certainly made my two giggle. A good story arc, a twist in the tale with plenty of comedy elements makes this a modern take on a 'classic British caper film'. I can definitely see this film on television and hope there is a sequel, with the children getting together to endeavor to solve another crime!

Entertainment of the best kind

Being a fan of 80s classics like the Goonies, I was extremely pleased to see a film with kids taking the lead roles (can't remember the last time I saw one of these?). I wasn't expecting a great film, I just thought it would be 'quite nice'. I was wrong. Nelson Nutmeg is a superb film! From the first to the last frame, the Nelson Nutmeg movie is charming, funny, and thoroughly entertaining. I laughed, got grossed out, then laughed some more. The children in the audience were utterly transfixed. The story moves fast, and the performances are superb. And I hate to get all technical, but there is some beautiful aerial photography in Nelson Nutmeg. The sweeping shots over the coast are absolutely magnificent. Overall - Nelson Nutmeg easily makes my top 3 movies of 2015. Loved it. Sequel please!

A great fun filled family adventure
stevemccarten16 October 2015
The film opens with the death of the camp mascot Nelson Nutmeg - not a spoiler alert... look at the title...

Then 4 charming and mischievous children go on a great adventure to try and get to the bottom of the mystery.

Shot on the south coast of England the film looks gorgeous and shares some of the scenery from another great programme from the same area - not saying as it might be a spoiler alert...

Anyway, it's great fun, the laughs are all in the right places and the kids are gonna love it.

Well done to everyone involved.

Entertaining Kids Adventure!

Very entertaining kids adventure film, fun for the whole family, and a great reminder for anyone who has been on a family vacation to a caravan park. Very pretty locations and the kids give really enjoyable performances. Bonnie Wright from the Harry Potter films is clearly having a ball too.

The young actors have done an excellent job. All young kids will love this film. It flows effortlessly. For me, the very last scene was just sheer CLASS. Brilliant.
