Nothing
ant36au31 December 2018
There is nothing good that can be said about this movie, from go to whoa it is an absolute stinker in every way, shape and form. The script is awful, the camera work is awful and the acting is just woeful,it was just my stubborness to watch any movie I start from beginning to end so that I can leave an honest review that kept me at it,an absolute relief when it ended as badly as it began.Whatever you do,steer well away from this pile of dung.

A Real Review
arfdawg-123 December 2018
No one on Earth would give this movie 10 stars. No one. It's poorly written and very slow moving. It appears to want to be a sort of teen Freddie or Jason or take your pick movie but it's just not good. The acting is moderately better than other indie movies of this ilk, but that doesnt help much. The direction is way too bad. Action doesn't keep moving. It's really not a particularity good movie but it's the really bad writing that really sinks it. I gave it 2 stars cuz they tried.

I was waiting for something to happen
shred-com1 September 2020
But nothing ever did. What was the point of this? I'm sure the filmmakers and actors are nice people, but I kept waiting for the story and horror to kick in, and it never did.. Every scene felt like a deleted scene. The nail in the coffin was the unlikable characters. They were all terrible honestly. I'm sure the makers are happy they got a film made, but next time please brainstorm a good story and characters before filming. Being an indie is no excuse. I've seen a ton of good indies.

A waste of 2 minutes! Looks like a high school movie project. Wait I've seen high school projects better than this.

Absolute crap on so many levels!
contactmaz24 December 2018
Ha - Even with this film being so, so, so, so, so crap, I watched it all. I can confirm that it is absolute crap, with crappy, crappy acting, a crappy, crappy plot and a crappy, crappy everything else. What the hell possessed me to watch it all, I really don't know.

By the way, clearly the 10 ratings are fakes. No way is it a 1 even - but IMDB doesn't provide 0s or negative ratings.

So guys and gals, watch something else, but definitely not this!

Another over rated film, err, garbage
moonlight_shadows21 December 2018
Well well well, yet another example of what is so bad with US horror movies on a low budget. I could have acted sooooo much better.

If You Like The Room, You'll Love Body Keepers!
creepyhomeboys9 July 2019
I am a HUGE fan of Tommy Wiseau's so bad it's good masterpiece The Room. Body Keepers is good in much the same way. The gay best friend is so over the top it's hilarious. The b*tchy goth girls are so "I hate everything" that you'll be cringing in your seat. There's long scenes of people getting drunk. The f-bomb is dropped every time a character can't think of a good comeback (which is often). All of the acting is really cheezy except by the extras, a lot of the speaking extras are decent. There's one point where the boyfriend, Tanner, is watching some marine vs. zombie movie and his girlfriend asks him what he's watching. He just stares into space and we cut back to the marine vs zombie show. I guess he didn't even know what he was watching. I couldn't stop laughing at this part.

I often hear bad editing thrown around by amateur film critics but have you ever seen a movie where there's a blank screen placed in the middle of changing camera angles? I don't mean like a transition shot, I mean there are like two frames ACTUALLY MISSING between changing angle. The characters argue in class and call each other names and the teacher is just like "yeah, okay." Speaking of the teacher, I thought this guy looked familiar and it turns out he was in a JonBenet Ramsey documentary and a hitman movie I saw a few years ago ALSO made in Colorado. I guess the Colorado film community is pretty small.

Anyway, if you want a good laugh, pour yourself a highball, call up your buddies, and strap in for Body Keepers.

Lame
rherring-1604015 May 2020
Anyone who gave this movie more than 2 stars couldn't have seen the same movie I did....lame from start to finish.....and is it my imagination or did the volume get really low towards the end of the movie?....not that it really mattered.....

A generally dismal effort without much going for it
kannibalcorpsegrinder6 April 2024
Forced to team together for a project, a group of clashing high-school students are tasked with participating in a group for their behavior to each other which soon causes them to come into contact with a special legend in the town and must race to stop it before it consumes them.

This was a generally awful and not that worthwhile effort. About the only thing that's interesting with the film is the setup of the abduction cases going on around the town which manages to introduce a solid enough small-town urban legend for this type of film. The opening abduction of the children and how it all connects to the legend found in the town about the dead body stored in the woods allows for the building of a fantastic urban myth about what's going on. The idea of using the legend to connect the disappearances has some workable motives for this one, especially as it goes along with the ghostly figures appearing to the survivors as they are potentially thrown off the case, but it's just not enough to keep this one interesting or watchable at all. There are some massive issues with this one that manage to hold it back. Among its most crippling issues is a tempo that's just absolutely dire and never once manages to provide any kind of interest in what's going on. Rather than drive people in with the idea of the creature running loose in the town following the build-up, this one tends to just meander around at a glacial tempo featuring all sorts of uninteresting and banal features to be had. The lives of the high-school students here are just not that interesting as the focus on their interactions and comebacks trying to live out their own melodramatic lives is plain brutal to get through and causes the film to rely on them to go through their paces instead of the horror elements which are kept to such a minimum that there's a chance to get so turned off and quit the film before anything happens. It doesn't help that not only are these scenes so bereft of genre action the pace is just off but the characters here are so awful it's impossible to even care what's going on with them. The football player is trying to nail down anything that breathes and openly cheats on his girlfriend hoping to get a chance with them, his girlfriend is the stereotypical mean cheerleader that bullies and picks on the goth girl because she's different from her, and the goth girl is the typical moody, angry at the world type who gets digs off at everyone around her when they're trying to help. None of the periphery friends are any better and this causes a series of generally unlikable people to wander around the film doing nothing of interest or feeling like its genre material so it's really hard to care about anything going on with this one.

Rated Unrated/R: Graphic Language and Violence.

I gave this movie an 8 for good reason
NJ201529 December 2018
Fist of all the first couple of reviews are obviously from people who have not seen this film. This is an independent film people, not a Hollywood blockbuster. The overall sound quality was amazing. Acting was good, the sound track amazing and the story was easy to follow and had a great ending. It's diffidently worth a watch!

Low-budget indie amateur fun
Fridaythe13th1246357817 December 2019
"Body Keepers" is excellent fun as long as you do not expect sharp writing, amazing actors, clever editing, and excellent sound design. The flaws ARE the fun in this kind of movie. There's nothing wrong with enjoying how the score is so loud in places that you can barely hear a character speaking. It's entertaining to watch an actor trying so hard to pull off disdainful coolness, but coming off as wooden and one-note. Movies need to be experienced in terms of their creators' abilities. I hope the people who made "Body Keepers" had a blast making the movie. If movie-making remains a goal, keep going! I'm sure everybody involved learned something. If you hate this kind of movie, here's a tip: look for the production company's name at the start of the movie. Avoid that production company's movies, you are unlikely to find anything that you will enjoy. Have a nice day.

Slow burn, low budget film.
dlmyst-298132 February 2020
Slow burn, low budget film is the best way to describe this. The actors weren't bad but weren't great acting. The story itself was pretty cool but the way it was delivered wasn't. Though there were a lot of scenes they could of cut but I feel if they did the movie would of been less than an hour. If you're bored and want to see a B rated movie then strap yourself in but don't expect much from the film.

Not too bad!
deejenn8227 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Overall I loved the plot. The acting for a first time movie for these teens was actually pretty good! It kept me engaged. The only thing I didn't like was that the first half of the movie was a little slow building and then the climax wasn't as shocking as I'd hoped for. But seriously for the first movie and local in CO it wasn't too bad! I think the actors did a pretty good job and were believable as their characters. I loved the twist at the end with grandpa as the professor! The cinematography wasn't half bad either! I'd rank it higher up then a lot of low budgets I've seen. I'd love to see a sequel!

How has anybody negatively reviewed this title?
FilmCheck9528 December 2018
I watched Body Keepers just yesterday and I loved it! It was fresh, it felt like the acting and direction was professional and these unknown actors really did their part! I wouldn't even be surprised to see any of these faces in big projects to come. The story was well written and the dialogue feels natural. I have seen some of these reviews before writing my own but I wouldn't give in to those reviews! This film is great and it was filmed by all Colorado talent which makes it that much more special! Its awesome to see indie films do good and this was a solid 8/10! I was entertained beginning to end!

Classic B Horror Movie
tpoyfair25 February 2020
All these low ratings I'm seeing must be from people who don't appreciate classic, low budget B horror movies. They're the best! And so worth the watch or just to pass the time. It got distribution for a reason...so there are redeeming qualities. Horror lovers, watch this, you'll enjoy it.

A Review from someone that has actually seen the film
Technicalfilms23 December 2018
I applaud everyone involved in this first time film, especially the actors, some of which have gone on to do Big Budget films. I have seen a lot of Colorado films, and this one actually had a good story line, and great direction. Great film for an Indie
