On her birthday anniversary, the unhappy middle-aged celebrator, Ariane, finds herself abandoned by her family and her beloved ones, sitting all alone in front of a delicious sugar-glazed cake that no one will ever taste. As a result--in one of those spur-of-the-moment decisions--Ariane leaves her vacant modern apartment to wander off into the city's bustling streets, only to wind up in a picturesque seaside café-restaurant in sun-kissed Marseilles. There, a fantasy world awaits the lonely visitor--and as Ariane mingles with the hospitable locals--she will realise that for once in her life, she needs to follow her heart. Will Ariane untangle her creative thread?
