A lot of fun!

Warning: Spoilers
Maya (director, writer and star Cybela Clare) isn't understood by her parents, who wonder why she sleeps with her parrot Romeo (Clare's real-life parrot Baby Rainbow) and also why she cares so much for animals and their place on our planet. They send her to a psychiatrist, Dr. Zerkov (Yanni Posnakoff), who understand her and gives her hope.

Then she heads off to Thailand, a place where she learns how elephants are being endangered and also meets a seductive man who has a secret agenda. Monks sleep with tigers, elephants can paint and we all learn something.

Clare makes documentaries about similar subjects as well as narrative movies. This one tells a story that seems autobiographical about how she came to love and take care of animals despite the way her family treated her. As always with her films, I'd love to learn more. Her bio says, "Fluent in six languages, Cybela Clare is an Ivy League graduate and former Drama Tutor at Harvard University. A proud member of the Explorers Club, Cybela has traveled the world documenting international wildlife rescues, as incorporated in several of her films."

But how did we get here? How much of this movie is true? And what motivated her to make it?

It's my goal to get those answers.

Unique blend of documentary, drama and comedy

Warning: Spoilers
Very eye opening of how sophisticated elephants are. Blown away about the way they can paint.

I have never seen a film that combines a documentary with a drama, comedy and action film!

A spectacular display of the animal world and mankind's mixed relationship

While the true story has some creditability and elicits sympathy and support for Maya the undercurrent theme is man's communication, connection and shared presence on our planet with our fellow creatures. The collateral damage that defies our natural order is dramatically demonstrated by the villainous behavior of the stepfather. The animal kingdom that this film reveals is a gorgeous panoply of nature's magnificence.

Monks with Pet Tigers!!! Dancing Elephants That Paint!!! An Animal Lover's Dream!!!

Warning: Spoilers
An amazing film that combines drama and adventure. Videographer Maya sleeps with a large red parrot, causing great distress to her wealthy bourgeois parents. Forced to see a psychiatrist who becomes her ally, Maya escapes to Thailand where, surrounded by friendly elephants, she has the adventure of a lifetime. The extraordinary feats of these talented elephants are truly mind-boggling. Cybela Clare has a magical connection with all the elephants and even the tigers in this unique movie, which proves that animal magnetism actually does exist!
