Certification

Sex & Nudity

  • At the beginning, there is a very brief scene in a bar with a woman in a revealing outfit in the background, in this scene the woman and a few others can briefly be seen seductively dancing (this lasts for about 2 seconds.)
  • A woman wears a tight tank top through part of the movie. Lots of cleavage and you can occasionally see her nipples through it.

Violence & Gore

  • A creature begins regurgitation human remains. Semi close up of a body parts and very close shot of a decomposing skull.
  • Kong smashes several helicopters with his fists. A soldier is thrown onto the windshield of a helicopter and sucked up into the propeller where he is pureed offscreen.
  • Several helicopters are ripped apart and blown up.
  • Kong smashes a man with his fist so hard that the ground around his fist breaks apart and flies upwards.
  • intense but stylized violence and gore throughout.
  • One character nearly drowns
  • In the opening scene 2 men fight with a sword - it is slightly graphic.
  • A soldier is shown impaled by a giant spider's leg down his throat. Disturbing to see, as you could only imagine what it would feel like having a giant leg pressured down your throat.
  • A character is grabbed by some bird things and flown above the river where his arm (arm or leg I can't remember) is torn off by the swarm of birds. No blood and its from far away, not very graphic but you see the limb detach from his body but briefly. Another character is understandably disturbed by this. (It's while they are on the boat)
  • A sequence which contains various shots of helicopters being knocked out of the sky.
  • A man is shown hit through the mouth, no gore. Very little, if any, visible blood.
  • A man is grabbed by flying creatures and has his arm ripped off onscreen, though it is far in the distance, really only a shadow, with no blood seen.

Profanity

  • 11 uses of shit 2 used as shitty 8 uses of hell 7 uses of damn 1 paired with god 3 uses of oh god 2 uses of son of a bitch, bastard and ass 1 paired with bad 1 use of fuck, dick, balls and oh my god
  • 1 cut off use of motherf-
  • A use of the F word. "The fucking ants".

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • One scene takes place in a bar.
  • A man smokes a cigarette, but is asked to stop immediately.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Characters are constantly attacked by giant, aggressive monsters in both brief jump-scares and prolonged intense action sequences, including one that takes place in a heavily-smokey boneyard. The skull-crawlers (giant, two-legged lizard-like monsters) are especially scary and threatening as they are crafty and mentioned to have been responsible for the death of Kong's parents.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • A lost soldier gets attained and eaten (offscreen), a small blood splatter lands on his walkie talkie.
  • A man sacrifices himself to explode a monster but instead just slaps him onto the side of a cliff where HE explodes
  • Near the end, Kong grapples a giant lizard-like creature's tongue and rips out all of its internal organs out of its mouth (similar to Ermac's "Inner Workings" Fatality in MKX). This is brief and not excessively gory, but it's extremely graphic.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Samuel L. Jackson's character is quite scary, since he's a manipulative and unhinged lieutenant colonel as he is trying to averange the death of other soliders. Who's partly responsible for causing the chaos in Skull Island by bombing it, and as the plot progresses, he wants to kill Kong not knowing that it will bring the extinction to the inhabitants of the island. This is all shown explicitly, and may be pretty unsettling for some.
