Warning: Spoilers
When phil starts making the crazy accusations and is talking about julia not checking the old beat up generator with frayed wires and that's the reason the place blew up. Why is no one in the crowd questioning how phil knew the wires were frayed and why he did nothing about it? Also the whole generator wire being the excuse for the place blowing up like that is ridiculous. Those portable generators don't carry enough fuel to cause that kind of explosion. And why did the writers keep this cycle going of jim killing people and then everyone forgives him and then he kills someone else and he's forgiven again?

What a Disappointment !

I really had high hopes that this Stephen King novel, with Spielberg guidance, would capture my imagination. The writing is terrible, and each episode gets worse. How it gets an IMDb rating greater than 5 is baffling. The characters are unbelievable and poorly acted, and the plot meanders from one contrived crisis to another.

Each new mystery tries to tease the viewer to keep watching, but the story moves so slowly, and the characters behave so irrationally, that it creates more frustration than interest. The story seems to be a hybrid of Lost and Gilligan's Island in that the situation (or any understanding of it) does not improve over time, and the main story points are about the personal interactions of the characters, and not the bigger picture: How and why are they trapped?

And what is the deal with the rest of the outside world? You would expect them to be all over the perimeter trying to communicate, and work with Chester's Mill to set them free. But instead you get a nuclear strike. Really??

Maybe it will end like Lost, revealing nothing, when we find out they have been dead all along, and nothing was real.

I think I'm done.

Does it get better??

I've invested this much time, guess I'll see it through, but what a slog!! With King as author and Spielberg as EP this series could have been So Much Better. It has evolved into a soap opera with a science fiction coating. The premise was so promising (I have not read the book) By this episode new characters are seemingly being introduced just to add more filler not more substance. No real depth of plot is being weaved. The dialog has become very soap opera-ish. Production value fairly good, acting seems strained. I wonder if they were frustrated with their scripts as well by this time. Truly hoped for more, a la The Stand (the original)
