After watching episode 3, I find myself having similar thoughts as I did after episode 2. The story doesn't really feel like it's progressing; instead, it seems more focused on delivering an encouraging tale - the kind of motivational story we're used to seeing in typical hero narratives. While these kinds of episodes can have value, it's a bit disappointing after the strong and suspenseful start that episode 1 offered.
The plot centered around Firm Man is serviceable but far from impressive. It's not bad, but there's nothing particularly gripping or unique about it either. It feels more like a side story rather than a true continuation of the main plotline that initially caught my attention.
The animation continues to be interesting. The art style leans heavily toward American comic book aesthetics, which gives the series a distinctive look. It's not unpleasant at all, and it even adds a bit of charm to the viewing experience. However, while the visuals are solid, I still hope To Be Hero X will push the story further and return to the intensity and intrigue that made episode 1 so compelling.
That being said, the final moments of this episode with the return of Xiao Yueqing give me hope for what's to come. It feels like the real plot may finally start moving again, and I'm genuinely looking forward to the next episode.
