I gave us another soldier

Warning: Spoilers
In 2045 the Malvado Cartel acquires military grade droids. The military gets Carson Wright (Brad Schmidt) out of prison because he has a chip in his head, a fact that failed to play an important role. Brad Schmidt is hardly a screen tough guy. The plot was boring, dialogue tough in a silly way, and acting non-existant. I guess the idea was to put some droids in the film and forget about things that go into making a decent cult grindhouse.

Sometimes the droids move normally, other times looked like claymation. Not much in character build-up. Mostly a sausage fest. Could have had a hot Asian marine. Not worth the time.

Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.

Watchable

For a low budget movie with Danny Trejo this is actually way above what he usually stars in. There's actually decent direction, acting, effects and a reasonable story about drug cartels employing killer robots. The one star reviews are way off the mark. Sure it ain't the best, but I've seen plenty of movies deserving one star, and this ain't one of them.

Totally disaster. Robots looked so fake, visuals so poor, actors are not convincional. Piece of crap. About the plot. This film doesn't have story line. Who is the main character? What happened to him after he won against bad guys? Nothing was shown. Totally rubbish.

Poor CGI and graphics

Warning: Spoilers
This film looks like it was not finished, the CGI looks like concept or rough drafts. The mini gun scene in so unrealistic and the exploding soldier scene you can see the blood bag. The movement and falling of robots are very unnatural. For movie with Danny Trejo I would expect a lot more. When you pull in a big named actor make movies to match the actor

Danny Trejo is one Mean mutha.....

Cartel 2045 is a futuristic take on the drug war against Mexico. Things are so bad against the US and Mexico (I guess the Wall was never done) that now the Mexican Cartel has military trained robots. Led by a cutthroat leader, Danny Trejo of the drug dealers, the military has there work cut out for them. The cartel originally gets these robots after the military stops using them after an accident in Iran makes them illegal. The Cartel obtain them through the black market. Enter our hero to put a stop to this, Marine Carson Wright. He was responsible for the incident that led to the ban on the robots. A chip that was implanted in him was faulty, it was supposed to allow him to control the robot droids. He is reassigned and sent to Mexico with a special unit marine force. There mission to save an engineer being held by Danny Trejos ruthless henchmen.

Overall Pretty cool robot effects which have pretty taken over as the armed protectors of Danny Trejo drug organization! I was surprised how story structured and how well the cast delivered there performances. Danny Trejo as a ruthless drug dealer will s haunting. He plays the role well and have not seen him in a role like this in a while. He impressed me and really made a presence and standout!

This movie is From director Writer/ Chris Le, and starring: Danny Trejo, Brad Schmidt, Alex Heartman, Blake Webb, Amy Savannah, Flo Donelli, Nathan Day, Mike Lopez, Casey William Walker, Anthony Tefertiller, Oscar Olivares, Sahar Khadjenoury

Cartel 2045 premieres on VOD May 1 from Uncork'd Entertainment.

This movie was a very good

The folks that made and produced this movie made movie magic. The acting was solid. The script was very good too. Anybody giving this movie a 1 star either has an agenda, or they aren't action movie fans.

Fun sci-fi/action outing
Woodyanders20 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
2045. The war on drugs in Mexico has escalated to the point where cartels use deadly robots to enforce their operations. Ex-Marine Carson Wright (a solid and likeable performance by Brad Schmidt) gets assigned to take down ruthless drug kingpin Angel Malvado (robustly played with lip-smacking wicked relish by Danny Trejo).

Writer/director Chris Le relates the enjoyably inane story at a snappy pace, stages the exciting action with aplomb, delivers a handy helping of bloody violence, and treats the silly premise with admirable seriousness. Oscar Olivares impresses as Angel's browbeaten son Gabriel. The robots look really funky, too. A total blast.
