In one scene, Inspector Chavez's wife is reading a magazine whose cover shows the actor Ricardo Darín, his wife and his son (as a child). The child is none other than Chino Darín, the second lead actor in this film.
Loosely based on the real homicide of Luis Emilio Mitre. Many details in the plot are almost exactly like those in the real case.
Inspector Chavez's car (the red Renault Fuego) was given as a prize in a contest to promote the film.
When El Ganso and Sanfilippo are seen playing chess in the precinct, in the background Dolores can be seen watching TV. The show she's watching is La extraña dama (1989), a popular telenovela which starred Luisa Kuliok, who in this film plays the victim's sister.
