Sex & Nudity

Violence & Gore

  • The violence is the primary reason why the game has a "Mature" rating, despite the fact that it is quite tame compared to other First-Person Shooters.
  • In the campaign, one of the villans is pulled out her titan an smashed against a wall. A brief splash of gore is depicted.
  • The most brutal kills come from Titans. Players punch grunts and they turn into gory chunks that lasts a second or two.
  • The purpose and premise of this game is to show an ongoing conflict between the Militia and IMC forces, using a variety of machines and combat personnel. Between the campaign and multiplayer, infantry and Titans alike are shot, punched, kicked, and bombed with a variety of ordinance, sometimes resulting in infantry being reduced to 'red mist'.
  • Titans (Robots) often execute enemy titans by ripping their mechanical arms off/shooting them in point-blank range.

Profanity

  • Within the campaign mode, a variety of curses are infrequently heard, including: hell, damn, ass, son-of-a-bitch, bastard, and - on two occasions - shit.
  • Within multiplayer, some scripted events and in-game character comments include: ass, hell, and damn. Microphone communication is also available and allows a variety of human interactions which may include profanity. Other players can be muted to prevent this.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A character, Barker, makes a return from the first Titanfall - which includes his alcoholism. When he is selected as a 'faction leader' for the multiplayer mode, he is often shown drinking deeply from a flask before the player character deploys into the match. Much of his commentary also includes alcohol references and comments (i.e. "First we fight, then we drink!").

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A variety of stressful situations and events occur in both the campaign and multiplayer modes of this title:
  • The introduction of an antagonist group - the Apex Predators - is stressful and it showcases the group's brutal tendencies like cutting a man's ear off. The cutting isn't clearly shown, only the severed ear is held in the air.
  • Some players that have a fear of heights may be distressed by segments of the story where a player needs to "wallrun" over an open chasm or jump between airborne ships at high altitude.
  • Multiplayer kills are intense and fast paced, between Titans and Pilots alike.
  • A few scenes feature tense situations between main antagonists and the main characters in a face-to-face manner, coupled with threatening dialogue. These are played for drama and to advance the plot.
