The question really was for David what caused the dementia and so I don't think all the stories about him lying or deceiving anyone... IFC Midnight Acquires Indie-Horror Dementia. Mike Testin‘s Dementia will be released in North America by IFC Midnight sometime this year. Dementia‘s plot synopsis: “After being diagnosed with Dementia, an elderly war veteran is forced by his estranged family to hire a live-in nurse, only to find she harbors a sinister secret.”
IFC Midnight is one of the great purveyors of our current theatrical horror environment. One need only look at the history of films they’ve chosen to support, such as Kill List, Anti-Christ, Byzantium, and Maniac, to respect the work they’ve done and their place in theatrical horror. I love going to their cinema in Manhattan to watch midnight movies with strangers and re-experience old classics on the big screen. Should you live in New York, regularly checking their programming is probably a good idea. I saw Alien and The Exorcist here – those are the kind...

There are plenty of fantastical villains in this year’s summer movies. But in terms of horribly believable evil, it will be hard to top the performance of actor Gene Jones as “Father” in director Ti West’s thriller The Sacrament, which lands in cinemas this Friday.
Inspired by 1978′s infamous Jonestown mass suicide — in which almost a thousand People’s Temple cult members died from cyanide poisoning — the movie stars Jones as an avuncular-seeming church leader who reveals a far darker side when he is investigated by a pair of fictional Vice journalists (Aj Bowen and Joe Swanberg). “He believes absolutely poisonous things,...

This movie has had my interest since I first peeped the trailer that I have included below. I’ve heard some mixed reaction to the film, as it was recently released to VOD platforms, but after a trailer that awesome, I still have hopes for enjoying it myself. IFC have announced that they will be releasing the film to DVD & Blu-ray on June 17th. It’s good to see a horror movie get a Blu-ray release from IFC. They seem to have started focusing more on the DVD platform for films like this lately. Check out the press release and the trailer below, and pick up a copy for yourself on the 17th of June.
