A very inspiring movie!

A very good movie without Hollywood's spin on the true life of Sam Childers. The movie gives a good view of the difficult times and sacrifices Sam, Lynn (his wife) and Paige (their daughter) went through during the founding and building of the organization Angels Of East Africa. The work of an NGO (non-governmental organization) depends heavily upon public and private donations. Due to the work being done in East Africa through out projects in Uganda, South Sudan, and Ethiopia, children are being rescued from slavery and kidnapping through local tribal uprisings. I have witnessed the work being done through this organization personally. The work being done there gives many children a hope for a bright future. Sam Childers has a very big heart for helping children and giving people a great opportunity for a second chance in life.

Brutally honest and emotional

This is not a "Hollywood" movie with big name stars ... this is the brutally honest and emotionally charged true story of the amazing work Sam Childers performs when rescuing and saving the lives of many children in Africa. From his shady past in America to receiving the Mother Teresa award in India I can guarantee you that you will be holding on to every moment. I strongly suggest that anyone who has seen the "Machine Gun Preacher" (2011) movie starring Gerard Butler as Sam Childers now see the "Machine Gun Preacher Documentary" (2014). Sam is relentless in his work and he will do whatever it takes to bring these children to safety.

Thoroughly engaging...

I first learned the details of the "Machine Gun Preacher" during the production of the Hollywood version (with Gerard Butler, Michelle Monaghan and Michael Shannon). I then read the book, "Another Man's War," upon which the film "MGP" was based. I anticipated the release of this documentary with much enthusiasm. It did not disappoint! As I viewed the documentary with friends and family who were completely unaware of Sam Childers' "story," the reactions during the rolling credits were simply, "Wow. Just ... 'Wow!'" It's a tough subject to get one's mind around. It's hard to imagine the horror these children have endured and that such evil abounds in this world. Thank God for those who make it possible for Sam and his crew to do what they do.

An excellent story of Sam a different kind of Pastor who is tough and is not afraid to step out on his own Just him and Jesus

This is a great story of amazing courage, heartache and love. Sam is a man that is torn between two worlds but the end result was worth it all. I wish we had more men like him. This story will bring you to tears for sure. Sam's wife and daughter suffered so much but God will bless them for staying with Sam. I love Africa and and love the kids there. I would recommend this documentary for everyone to watch. Our eyes need to be opened to the suffering in other countries. We are so blessed here in America and yes we do lots of charity work, but what Sam does is he builds relationships with people that will last forever. Sam thank you and your family for all you have done and continue to do

Raw, in ya face truth

This documentary is the real deal, the truth that needs to be told, the truth that will encourage people everywhere that one man can make a difference. The cost is high, yet he pays the price, for the children, the Angels of east Africa! This is a truly inspirational story of how a man can change, and then go on to help change a nation. A story of courage and determination, even through personal pain, loss and suffering. A story of how even the most broken of us can reach out and help others, worse off than ourselves. It is ultimately a story of hope, and love, and sacrifice, and also of being willing to pay the ultimate price! Having come to know Sam as a friend in the past year, I can attest to the authenticity of this man's genuine heart for these beautiful children! God bless you Sam as you serve Him!

A must watch documentary

This movie is a punch in the face of truth. I won't say it made me cry like a girl as I'm proud of the tears this truth made me cry. I cried like a man! I highly recommend watching this!!! 10 out of 10. After seeing the Hollywood version of Machine Gun Preacher I offered my assistance to Sam and I now call him a friend. I can vouch for his realness. He invited me to Africa to see how the money is used I help raise and then send him. Full story on this can be found here www.robwalkerofficial.com Sam Childers is the real deal! Sam Childers has a credo…

'One man can make a difference'.

If one man can make a difference, imagine what many men, women and children can do!

Join the fight! #ForFreedomMGP
